GAME OVER: Super Bowl Ratings TANK to 10-Year-Low, Lowest Scoring Championship EVER

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.04.19

The National Football League held its annual Super Bowl championship game Sunday evening; with millions of fans tuning-out as the event posted its lowest ratings in more than 10 years.

“First of all, in the Patriots’ third consecutive visit to Super Bowl, the match-up in Atlanta on Sunday was the lowest scoring Super Bowl ever, a dubious honor at best. The record was previously held by Super Bowl VII, which saw the Miami Dolphins best the Washington Redskins 14-7 on January 14, 1973,” writes Deadline Hollywood.

“However, when it comes to ratings, Super Bowl LIII is not one anyone’s going to want to brag about,” adds the report  “Shown on CBS for the first time since 2016 and with ad spots going for around $5 million each, the Rams’ loss scored a 44.9/68 in metered market results.”

The decline in ratings follows years of “player protests” during the national anthem; alienating fans after athletes routinely “take a knee” during the pre-game festivities.

GAME OVER: Empty Stadiums STUN NFL Owners Over the Weekend

The NFL is struggling to ease tensions with furious fans over their professional athletes’ months-long protest of the national anthem. As ratings plummet, owners and officials are beginning to bar their players from “taking a knee” before the game. Last week, just two teams –the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins- banned their athletes from “disrespecting” the anthem and the flag.

GAME OVER: Major Networks to ABANDON NATIONAL ANTHEM During NFL’s 2018 Season

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.22.18

Just hours after President Trump unloaded on ESPN for refusing to air the US national anthem during a recent NFL game, other networks confirmed their plan to deploy a similar strategy to appease furious fans.

According to USA Today, both CBS and NBC are planning to totally cut or reduce air-time for the performance of the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ during upcoming match-ups; saying they “do not plan to televise” the pre-game ceremony.

“On occasion, we’ve covered the national anthem, but our plans aren’t finalized yet as we have an earlier kickoff time in 2018,” said a spokesperson for NBC Sports.

The President unloaded on ESPN during Wednesday night’s fiery rally in West Virginia, saying “we don’t like” the new policy.

“You’re proud of our country, you’re proud of our history, and unlike the NFL, you always honor and cherish our great American flag,” Trump said. “It was just announced by ESPN that rather than defending our anthem, our beautiful, beautiful national anthem and defending our flag, they’ve decided that they just won’t broadcast when they play the national anthem. We don’t like that.”
