GANGLAND: Chicago Police Say Residents ROBBED at Gunpoint for Winter Coats

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.28.19

Chicago officials are warning residents of a disturbing trend plaguing the city; saying multiple  people have been robbed at gunpoint for expensive, high-quality winter coats as temperatures plunge across the region.

“Over the past two weeks, police say there’s been a spate of the thefts in which people wearing the luxury coats have been targeted and forced to give up the jackets. The coats can cost upward of $1,000 and are often seen on celebrities,” writes Fox Chicago.

“Police say two men jumped from a Mercedes, showed a gun and punched a 54-year-old man before forcibly taking his coat and wallet Wednesday. The same night, two men showed a gun to a 23-year-old man walking with a friend and demanded his Canada Goose coat,” adds the article.

Weather experts warned residents Monday that temperatures may soon break the lowest levels ever recorded; plunging to minus 27 degrees early Tuesday morning.

WINDY CITY: Chicago Braces for COLDEST Temperatures on Record, -27 Degrees

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.28.19

Chicago is bracing for the coldest regional temperatures ever recorded this week; with city officials warning residents the region could see minus 27 degrees as early as Monday evening.

“In Chicago, the coldest temperatures of the year will arrive midweek. After seeing a high around 34 on Monday at O’Hare International Airport, temperatures will drop to near zero before the end of the day, according to the National Weather Service. By Tuesday night, temperatures are expected to take another plunge, to 23 below zero, flirting with Chicago’s coldest temperature ever: minus 27 on Jan. 20, 1985,” writes the Chicago Tribune.

“The lows Tuesday and Wednesday could break records set in 1966. They’ll also feel much worse with wind gusts up to 30 mph, which will make it feel as low as negative 50 degrees, according to the weather service,” adds the author.

Weather experts blame the frigid temperatures on a massive “polar vortex” forming over Canada; saying the phenomenon will hover over the nation’s third-largest city in the days ahead.

CHICAGO BURNING: City Officials Blame THE WEATHER for Sudden MURDER Spike

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.07.18

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the city’s top law enforcement officials urged the public to remain calm as the region’s crime crisis spiraled out of control this week; suggesting “hot temperatures” was the main reason behind the recent spike in murders.

“When it’s very hot outside, we have multiple areas with crowds. … An offender, or some type of rival gang sees a large group of people,” said Chief of Patrol Fred Waller. “They take advantage of that opportunity, and they shoot into a crowd, no matter who they hit.”

Mayor Emanuel became visibly emotional while speaking on the Windy City’s South Side Monday, saying “We have a heavy heart. Our souls are burdened.”

“What we saw this weekend, it just rips at everything that I believe in,” added Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson.

The press conference came just hours after the city struggled to come to terms with a stunning spike in violence in a small 48-hour period, with 12 people dead and over 70 injured in gang warfare throughout Chicago.
