GENERATION SNOWFLAKE: New College Program Allows Students to 'GRADE THEMSELVES'

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.09.18

A literature class at a small liberal arts college is experimenting with a new program where professors utilize “contract grading,” a process where students pick a grade before the semester and complete the appropriate workload to achieve it.

According to the College Fix, professor Melissa Gonzalez is deploying the new strategy for her Introduction to Spanish Literatures and Cultures course at Davidson College.

“She is one of several professors across the nation who allow this pick-your-own grade method, billed as a way to eliminate the student-professor power differential and give students control of their education. But critics contend it is just another example of how colleges coddle students from the harsh realities of the real world, which includes competition and goal expectations,” writes the Fix.

“I aim to foster classroom environments that are radically democratic and empower intellectual risk-taking,” said Gonzalez on social media.

CAMPUS CHAOS: Liberal Colleges Clampdown on 'Offensive' Halloween Costumes

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.07.17

As college students prepare to enjoy Halloween festivities throughout the country, liberal universities across the US are releasing new guidelines restricting costumes that some may find “offensive.”

The “Inclusion” policy released by Northern Arizona University warns students of the dangers of “cultural appropriation,” telling them to avoid dressing as caricatures of a “culture that is not one’s own.”

“Cultural appropriation means adopting a cultural product in terms of local meanings and practices. In its broadest sense the term means taking an existing cultural form from one social group and replaying it in another with different meanings or practices,” said the school’s website.

The University of St. Thomas also released policies regarding “acceptable student costumes” in an article titled, “Costume or Cultural Appropriation?”

“The leaves are falling, the temperature is dropping, and Halloween is just around the corner. Many would argue that Halloween is the day of the year where you can be whoever, or whatever you want. However, it’s important to know the distinction between what is funny and what is cultural appropriation,” writes the author.

“Does my costume represent a culture that is not my own?” it urges students to ask before leaving their dormitories.

DACA DENIED: Arizona BANS ‘Dreamers’ from Receiving In-State College Tuition

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.11.18

University-bound DACA-recipients in Arizona are no longer eligible for in-state college tuition, according to a new ruling from the state’s Supreme Court.

The court’s decision bars ‘Dreamers’ from applying for cheaper fees throughout Arizona’s state universities and community colleges; a common route for DACA-recipients to attend institutions of higher education.

According to Fox News, the unanimous decision will have a dramatic impact on at least 2,000 students and all incoming freshman effective immediately.

“While people can disagree what the law should be, I hope we all can agree that the attorney general must enforce the law as it is, not as we want it to be,” said a statement from the Arizona Attorney General.

The ruling comes as President Trump repeatedly urges Congressional Democrats to pass a permanent solution to DACA; claiming “a deal can be made” on the nearly 800,000 ‘Dreamers’ currently living in the United States.
