UPDATE: Matt Damon DENIES ABANDONING U.S. Over Feud with President Trump

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.15.18

UPDATE: A publicist for Damon denies the actor plans to move to Australia, saying “Matt has visited Australia several times recently, but he has not bought a house there nor is he moving there.”

_____

A-list celebrity Matt Damon is preparing to move his entire family to Australia due to his ongoing feud with the President; reportedly telling friends and family he’s ready to abandon the US because of Trump’s policies.

According to the New York Post, the Hollywood celebrity recently purchased a new home in New South Wales alongside his ‘Thor’ co-star and Australian-born actor Chris Hemsworth; hoping to raise his children in a “safe place.”

“A source exclusively tells Page Six: ‘Matt’s telling friends and colleagues in Hollywood that he’s moving the family to Australia’ because the activist actor disagrees with Trump’s policies. The president’s frequently butted heads with liberal Hollywood A-listers including Meryl Streep,” writes the Post.

“Matt’s saying the move will not impact his work — as he will travel to wherever his projects are shooting. He’s also telling friends he wants to have a safe place to raise his kids,” the insider adds.

Damon came under fire late last year when he made multiple “insensitive comments” regarding the ‘Me Too’ movement that swept Hollywood; suggesting there was a “spectrum of behavior” in terms of sexual assault.

DAMON DIGS IN: Matt Damon DEFENDS ‘Hollywood Males’

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.19.17

A-list celebrity Matt Damon found himself in hot-water again Tuesday, doubling-down on previous comments and saying “men in Hollywood” need to be defended; adding that there’s a “s***load of guys who don’t do this kind of thing.”

The Hollywood celebrity raised eyebrows again this week, wading back into the national dialogue regarding powerful men and widespread accusations of sexual abuse just days after making other controversial statements.

“We’re in this watershed moment, and it’s great, but I think one thing that’s not being talked about is there are a whole s–tload of guys — the preponderance of men I’ve worked with — who don’t do this kind of thing and whose lives aren’t going to be affected,” Damon told Business Insider.

In the same interview, Damon was pressed over whether he’d quit an acting gig if producers, directors, or co-workers associated with the project were accused of sexual misconduct.

“I mean, I wouldn’t want to work with somebody who — life’s too short for that. But the question of if somebody had allegations against them, you know, it would be a case-by-case basis. You go, ‘What’s the story here?'”

Damon was roundly criticized by fellow celebrities and politicians last week after he seemingly defended men accused of sexual assault -such as comedian Louis CK and Al Franken- saying there’s a “spectrum” of different types of abuse.

HOLLYWEIRD: Matt Damon DEFENDS Sexual Predators, Cites ‘Spectrum' of Abuse

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.15.17

Hollywood celebrity Matt Damon finally opened up about the sexual scandals swirling around actors, politicians, and media pundits during a much-maligned interview this week; seemingly defending the growing list of sexual predators he’s been associated with for decades.

“I do believe that there’s a spectrum of behavior”

According to media website Vulture, the A-list actor was speaking with Peter Travers when he was pressed on his relationships with Harvey Weinstein, Ben Affleck, and others accused of widespread sexual misconduct.

His response was not what most people expected.

“I do believe that there’s a spectrum of behavior,” said Damon. “And we’re going to have to figure — you know, there’s a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right? Both of those behaviors need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn’t be conflated, right?”

Damon went on to defend multiple alleged predators, including comedian Louis CK and disgraced Sen. Al Franken.

“I don’t know Louis C.K.. I’ve never met him. I’m a fan of his, but I don’t imagine he’s going to do those things again. You know what I mean?” asked Damon.

“I personally would have preferred if they had an Ethics Committee investigation, you know what I mean?” said the actor regarding Franken. “It’s like at what point — you know, we’re so energized to kind of get retribution, I think.”
