IT BEGINS: Atlanta School ABANDONS ‘Pledge of Allegiance,' Says 'NOT INCLUSIVE'

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.09.18

A charter school in Atlanta, Georgia announced this week that it will no longer recite the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ at the start of each day; caving to pressure from an increasing number of students and teachers who refuse to stand for the patriotic ceremony.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper, the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School abandoned the Pledge for all of its elementary students; saying “Over the past couple of years it has become increasingly obvious that more and more of our community were choosing to not stand and/or recite the pledge.”

“Teachers and the K-5 leadership team will be working with students to create a school pledge that we can say together at morning meeting,” added the press release.

“This pledge will focus on students’ civic responsibility to their school family, community, country and our global society,” added the announcement.

IT BEGINS: Bill De Blasio Calls for ABOLISHMENT of ‘BROKEN’ ICE

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.29.18

Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio slammed the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency Friday; blasting the “unreasonable” department and calling for the abolishment of ICE in the aftermath of “family separations.”

De Blasio took to twitter to attack the federal agency, saying America needs “reasonable law enforcement” along the US-Mexico border; adding that ICE agents are “not reasonable law enforcement.”

“Every country needs reasonable law enforcement on their borders. ICE is not reasonable law enforcement. ICE is broken, it’s divisive and it should be abolished,” he tweeted.

The Mayor’s comments come just days after the President signed an executive order ending “family separations” along the border; effectively permitting minors to remain with their parents while being processed by federal agents.

IT BEGINS: CNN Commentator Calls for Removal of George Washington Statues

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.01.17

A prominent CNN commentator turned heads on Thursday when she called for the removal of not only Confederate memorials, but any statues honoring Thomas Jefferson and George Washington as well; arguing they shouldn’t be celebrated because they owned slaves.

Angela Rye made the startling comments while speaking on CNN, discussing the ongoing controversy surrounding the removal of Confederate war memorials throughout the United States.

“I think that we have to get to the heart of the problem here. And the heart of the problem is the way in which many of us were taught American history. American history is not all glorious,” said Rye. “I couldn’t disagree more about George Washington. George Washington was a slave-owner. And we need to call slave-owners out for what they are. Whether we think they were protecting American freedom or not, he wasn’t protecting my freedom.”

“My ancestors weren’t deemed human beings to him. So to me, I don’t care if it’s a George Washington statue or a Thomas Jefferson statue, or a Robert E. Lee statue, they all need to come down,” she added.

“I’m not going to allow us to say that it’s ok for a Robert E. Lee but not a George Washington. We need to call it what it is,” said the commentator. “And I’m not saying that they don’t deserve to be taught about. We definitely need to learn about it so that we don’t repeat it, because we’re very close to repeating it right now.”

“But I’m not giving any deference to George Washington or to Robert E. Lee,” she added.
