IT’S OFFICIAL: US Slams Iran with Crippling Sanctions over Weapons Programs

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.05.18

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin unveiled a series of crippling new sanctions on the Iranian regime Monday; warning Tehran to abandon its weapons programs or “see its economy crumble.”

The stiff penalties on the Iranian government, business entities, and individuals comes just days after President Trump hinted at the new sanctions on social media; tweeting ‘Sanctions are Coming November 5th.”

“The Iranian regime has a choice: it can either do a 180-degree turn from its outlaw course of action and act like a normal country or it can see its economy crumble,” said Pompeo.

“Iran’s leaders must cease support for terrorism, stop proliferating ballistic missiles, end destructive regional activities, and abandon their nuclear ambitions immediately if they seek a path to sanctions relief,” Mnuchin said. “The maximum pressure exerted by the United States is only going to mount from here. We are intent on making sure the Iranian regime stops siphoning its hard currency reserves into corrupt investments and the hands of terrorists.”

A NEW DEAL: US Unveils ’12 Requirements’ for New Iran Agreement

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.21.18

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo unveiled the Trump administration’s list of demands for a new Iranian nuclear agreement this week; calling on leaders in Tehran to halt all uranium enrichment and cease its support for terror groups throughout the Middle East.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Pompeo revealed the preconditions during a speaking event in Washington, DC earlier Monday; saying Iran needs to fulfill “12 basic requirements” to reach a new agreement with the United States to ease crippling economic sanctions.

The list includes halting uranium enrichment, severing its ties with militants operating in the region, and walking away from Iranian involvement in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and Afghanistan.

“Relief from sanctions will come only when we see tangible, demonstrated, and sustained shifts in Tehran’s policies,” Mr. Pompeo said. “We acknowledge Iran’s right to defend its people. But not its actions which jeopardize the world’s citizens.”

“These will end up being the strongest sanctions in history by the time we are complete,” added the Secretary of State.

IRAN ON EDGE: US Pressure Causing SERIOUS ‘DISCONTENT’ in Tehran

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.29.18

Massive pressure from the Trump administration is causing serious “discontent” among Iranian rulers and civilians, with economic problems and social issues creating growing unrest just months after the US withdrew from the Iranian nuclear agreement.

According to Yahoo News, mounting sanctions and economic pressure from the White House is “rattling the Islamic Republic” and creating new headaches for leaders in Tehran.

“Three days of protests broke out on Sunday in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, with hundreds of angry shopkeepers denouncing a sharp fall in the value of the Iranian currency,” writes Yahoo. “The disturbances are a major challenge, but analysts expect the leadership will survive despite factional infighting and growing economic problems.”

“The country is under pressure from inside and outside. But it seems there is no crisis management plan to control the situation,” said one Iranian insider.

Iranian authorities largely blame the escalating currency crisis on the United States’ decision to leave the nuclear pact, saying the Trump administration has launched a “political, psychological, and economic” war on Iran.
