JUDGMENT DAY: Key Senate Kavanaugh Vote Just Minutes Away, Fate Unknown

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.05.18

Weeks of high-stakes testimony, 11th hour allegations, political posturing, and media speculation will come to end Friday morning, when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will hold a pivotal vote surrounding the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

McConnell will move Friday morning to advance Kavanaugh’s nomination before the full US Senate; meaning if he can muster 50 “yes” votes to “end the debate” the potential Justice will likely be officially confirmed Saturday morning.

The vote comes as Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee made public the official summary of the FBI’s investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh in the early 1980s.

“According to the summary of the report, FBI agents interviewed 10 people and reached out to 11. They focused exclusively on witnesses with potential first-hand knowledge of alleged sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh,” writes Fox News.

McConnell’s vote will take place at 10:30am Friday morning.

MOVING FORWARD: GOP Plans Potential ‘Weekend Vote’ on Judge Kavanaugh

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.04.18

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell signaled Thursday his party was prepared to move forward on President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court; setting the stage for a potential vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh over the weekend.

McConnell, Flake, Collins and other GOP senators weighed-in on Kavanaugh’s stalled process hours after the FBI released its seventh background check on the potential Justice; saying there was no additional “corroborating evidence” to support Dr. Christine Ford’s allegations of sexual misconduct in the 1980s.

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has already started a process that will produce a crucial test vote in his polarized chamber Friday on Kavanaugh’s fate. Should Republicans get the majority of votes they need — and Vice President Mike Pence is available to cast the tie-breaker, if necessary — that would set up a decisive roll call on his confirmation, likely over the weekend,” writes the Associated Press.

Senate Democrats slammed the recently released FBI report Thursday morning, calling the document “incomplete” and “very limited” in its scope and findings.

McCONNELL: Trump’s Presidency Has Been ‘My Best Years in the Senate’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.21.18

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell publicly praised President Trump Friday, saying Trump’s tenure in office has been the best “year-and-a half in my time in the Senate” from his entire 34-year career.

McConnell was speaking at Value Voter summit in the nation’s capital when he thanked President Trump for moving the country in the right direction.

“I’m now in the 34th year in the Senate, hard to believe,” McConnell said. “This has been, if you want America to be a right of center nation, this last year-and-a-half has been the best year-and-a-half in my time in the Senate.”

“And, the reason you should know that, is look how angry the Left is. The angrier they get, the better we are doing,” he added.

“You’ve watched the fight, you’ve watched the tactics,” McConnell said. “But here is what I want to tell you, in the very near future Judge Kavanaugh will be on the United States Supreme Court.”
