JUST BLEW IT: Louisiana Mayor BANS NIKE PRODUCTS from City’s Recreational Programs

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.10.18

A mayor in Louisiana is prohibiting his government from purchasing any Nike products for the city’s recreational program; the first in the nation to ban the iconic shoemaker after they unveiled a controversial advertisement campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick.

According to Fox News, Mayor Ben Zahn of Kenner, Louisiana signed an executive order last week that says “under no circumstances” could Nike apparel or footwear be “purchased for use” at the city’s recreational facilities.

“Effective immediately all purchases made by any booster club operating at any Kenner Recreation Facility for wearing apparel, shoes, athletic equipment and/or any athletic product must be approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation, or his designee,” the memo added.

The controversial ad came under fire after going viral on social media within minutes of its release, with Americans across the country slamming Kaepernick over his claims he “sacrificed everything” by kneeling during the US national anthem at professional football games.

HANNITY TO NIKE: This is What REAL SACRIFICE Looks Like

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.05.18

Speaking during his opening monologue on ‘Hannity’ Tuesday night, Sean took a minute to remind Nike executives what “real sacrifice” looks like after the iconic brand named Colin Kaepernick as the face of its new ad campaign.

“Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick […] famously refused to stand for the national anthem during the games. Nike is now using Kaepernick to headline its new ad campaign: ‘Believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything,’” said Hannity.

“I’d like to take a moment to remind Nike executives that ‘sacrificing everything’ is not a multi-millionaire, social justice warrior whose greatest feat of bravery is kneeling on a football field,” he added. “Those who sacrifice everything can be found on the ground in Afghanistan as we speak.”

IT BEGINS: College Removes NIKE LOGO from All Athletic Gear Over Kaepernick Ad

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.07.18

The outrage over iconic footwear brand Nike’s recent advertisement campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick reached new heights Friday, when a local college became the first in the nation to remove the “swoosh” logo from all athletic apparel.

According to CBS, The College of the Ozarks -a private school in Point Lookout, Missouri- decided to strip its athletic department of all Nike-made apparel featuring the logo; adding “Nike is ashamed of America.”

“If Nike is ashamed of America, we are ashamed of them,” said College of the Ozarks President Jerry C. Davis. “We also believe that those who know what sacrifice is all about are more likely to be wearing a military uniform than an athletic uniform.”

The President weighed-in on Nike’s growing controversy on social media this week, saying the shoemaker was “getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts.”
