LA TIMES: Another 15,000 Person ‘Migrant Caravan’ to Leave Honduras January 15th

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.28.18

Another “migrant caravan” is preparing to leave Honduras in the coming weeks; with officials saying the 15,000 person group is ready to depart Central America and head for the United States’ southern border.

According to the Los Angeles Times, “Another migrant caravan — this one estimated at 15,000 people — is preparing to leave Honduras on Jan. 15.”

“Meanwhile, thousands of Central American migrants from a caravan that left Honduras in October remain stranded at the U.S.-Mexico border and languishing in crowded Tijuana shelters while they wait out a lengthy process to file asylum requests with the United States,” adds the Times.

President Trump threatened to completely “close” the southern border Friday; saying Democrats need to fully fund his border wall to re-open the federal government and pass a bipartisan budget agreement.

BETO ON BORDER: Trump ‘Locking’ Children in ‘Cages,’ Tear-Gassing Migrants

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.26.18

Failed Texas Senate hopeful Beto O’Rourke unloaded on the Trump administration’s handling of the ‘migrant caravan’ this week; baselessly asserting the White House was “locking” children in “cages.”

Beto posted his incendiary remarks online just hours after dozens of migrants were apprehended after storming the US border and hurling rocks at American authorities.

“It should tell us something about her home country that a mother is willing to travel 2,000 miles with her 4-month old son to come here,” O’Rourke posted.

“[It] should tell us something about our country that we only respond to this desperate need once she is at our border,” O’Rourke continued. “So far, in this administration, that response has included taking kids from their parents, locking them up in cages, and now tear gassing them at the border.

“People are leaving violent countries where they fear for their lives,” he added. “Without money, they are subsisting on hope for their kids, for themselves, that they can get to safety. After being denied the ability to lawfully petition for asylum for the last 10 days, they are desperate.

BORDER BREACHED: Central American Migrants ‘Trickling’ into the United States from Tijuana

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.10.18

A “steady trickle” of Central American immigrants traveling with the ‘migrant caravan’ are slowly entering the United States illegally across the southern border; eventually turning themselves over to federal agents rather than wait for months in Mexico.

According to the Associated Press, “A steady trickle of Central American migrants have been finding ways to climb over, tunnel under or slip through the U.S. border wall to plant their feet on U.S. soil and ask for asylum.”

The migrants breached the US-Mexico border with the hopes of avoiding months of wait times as thousands apply for asylum at American Port of Entry across the region.

“But by word of mouth, some have realized they can simply cross into U.S. territory, largely uninhibited by Mexican authorities. In twos or threes — occasionally by the dozen — they arrive at the border wall and manage to get over. Often within minutes, border officers quickly arrive to escort them to detention centers and begin ‘credible fear” interviews,’ adds the AP.

The revelation comes just days after Sen. Ted Cruz introduced legislation that would allocate upwards of $25 billion for President Trump’s signature campaign promise: The border wall.
