LIBERAL MELTDOWN: Democratic Senator Says RUSSIAN MEDDLING a ‘9/11 MOMENT’

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.18.18

Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal took his war against the Trump administration to the next level Wednesday, saying Russian election interference is on the same level as the September 11th terror attacks on New York City and Washington, DC.

Blumenthal was speaking with CNN earlier Wednesday when he was asked to comment on the President’s historic Helsinki summit with Vladimir Putin, saying the US was experiencing a “9/11 national emergency.”

“The red light is flashing as the Director of National Security Dan Coats put it, much as it was before 9/11, we are in a 9/11 national emergency because our country is under attack. Literally, that attack is ongoing and pervasive,” said the Senator.

“This 9/11 moment demands that we come together, issue a subpoena for the translator, but also for the national security team that debriefed the President about these supposed agreements,” he added.

HELSINKI HUDDLE: Trump and Putin Meet Face-to-Face in Historic Summit

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.16.18

President Trump met Russian President Vladimir Putin behind closed doors in Helsinki Monday; discussing a wide range of issues including Syria, terrorism, and allegations of Kremlin-influenced meddling during the 2016 race for the White House.

According to Fox News, the two leaders huddled in Finland as the President predicted an “extraordinary relationship” with Putin.

“I think we will end up having an extraordinary relationship,” Trump said, sitting next to Putin at the presidential palace in Helsinki. “Getting along with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing.”

“The president met with Putin after sparring for the better part of the past week with traditional U.S. allies — first with NATO nations over their levels of defense spending, and later with British Prime Minister Theresa May over her ‘Brexit’ strategy, though he seemed to patch things up before leaving London,” writes Fox.

The meeting comes just days after Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced a new string of indictments against 12 Russian agents over their “hacking” of the 2016 race.

RAND PAUL: Helsinki Summit Critics Motivated by ‘DISLIKE of the PRESIDENT’

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.17.18

Senator Rand Paul slammed the “pro-war” critics of President Trump’s historic Helsinki summit with Vladimir Putin Monday; saying his GOP detractors were motivated by their “dislike of the President.”

The Senator praised the President’s face-to-face meeting with the Russian leader just hours after Trump met with Putin in the Finnish capital, saying “small steps” towards a thaw in relations with another nuclear superpower was a good thing for both countries.

“We’re going to talk to the president about some small steps in order to try to thaw the relations between our countries,” said Paul.

“Republicans that are making the criticism are either the pro-war Republicans like (Sen. John) McCain and (Sen. Lindsey) Graham or the anti-Trump ones like (Sen. Ben) Sasse,” he added. “They are motivated by their persistent and consistent dislike of the president.”
