A potential 2018 democratic candidate running in Virginia raised eyebrows throughout Washington, DC on Wednesday, releasing a campaign video that directly compared President Trump to al Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden.
Congressional hopeful Dan Helmer released the video on social media this week, saying the “greatest threat to our democracy” once lived in a cave, but now resides in the White House; equating the al Qaeda terrorist who murdered nearly 3,000 Americans on 9/11 with the Commander-in-Chief.
Helmer is running in the Democratic primary to decide who will take-on GOP Rep. Barbara Comstock in the commonwealth’s 10th Congressional district.

A NEW LOW: Schiff Claims RUSSIA Pushed SECOND AMENDMENT so AMERICANS Can ‘Kill Each Other’
Rep. Adam Schiff took his all-out obsession with Russian collusion to a new level Monday evening, breathlessly suggesting the Kremlin promoted the Second Amendment on Facebook to help Americans “kill each other” during the 2016 presidential election.

“We can see for example on Facebook, so graphically what I was mentioning earlier; the multiple aims of the Russians in their interference in our elections. On Facebook you had the content that was clearly anti-Hillary and you had the content that was very pro-Trump,” said Schiff.
“Of course, they parroted Black Lives Matter to try to broaden the racial divide in this country. Fascinatingly they also trumpeted the Second Amendment. The Russians are very big fans of our Second Amendment,” he added.
“The Russians would be very thrilled if we would be doing nothing but killing each other every day, and sadly we are,” said the liberal lawmaker.
BLUE WAVE CRASHING: Pelosi VOWS to Run for Speaker if DEMS Take Congress
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi set off alarm bells throughout Democratic circles Thursday, confirming her plans to run for Speaker of the House should her party retake control of Congress after the 2018 midterms.
Pelosi’s comments were warmly received by Republicans across the country heading into the elections; with GOP strategists planning to tie their opponents to the unpopular Democrat as American voters head to the polls.
“We will win. I will run for speaker. I feel confident about it. And my members do, too,” Pelosi told the Boston Globe this week.
“It’s important that it not be five white guys at the table, no offense,” she added, referencing the top positions in Congress and the White House. “I have no intention of walking away from that table.”
“She is the most unpopular politician in every single competitive district in the country,” said a spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee, who welcomed the news of her run for Speaker of the House.
