posted by Hannity Staff - 8.24.18

London police launched an official investigation into the capital’s 100th murder of 2018 Thursday; raising serious security concerns over public safety and renewed calls to curb sales of knives and other weapons to the public.

According to the Mirror, an “epidemic” of knife crime continues to rock the United Kingdom after a 73-year-old was found dead in southwest London.

“While the investigations into the motives behind deaths vary wildly – from social media disputes to domestic incidents to seemingly random attacks a consistent theme from month to month is the use of knives as a lethal weapon,” writes the Mirror.

“In 2017 there was a total of 116 murders in the capital with this year appearing set to mark a rise in the number of offences,” adds the author.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan came under fire from furious residents after his weak response to the escalating crisis; blaming “budget cuts” for the spike in stabbings.

LONDON FALLING: Britain Tackles SOCIAL MEDIA as Murder Rates Skyrocket

The United Kingdom is settings its sights on the “wild west elements” of the internet this week; unveiling new legislation that cracks down on cyber bullying as Britain’s crime rates continue to soar.

According to Yahoo News, UK legislators are poised to reveal new guidelines that seek to clampdown on bullying, child exploitation, and other threats posed by social media platforms across the country.

Britain’s Digital Minister Matt Hancock said the guidelines will help UK-based companies comply with harsh restriction, but was unclear on what penalties they would face should they violate the regulations.

“Digital technology is overwhelmingly a force for good across the world and we must always champion innovation and change for the better,” Hancock said in a statement.

“At the same time I have been clear that we have to address the Wild West elements of the Internet through legislation, in a way that supports innovation. We strongly support technology companies to start up and grow, and we want to work with them to keep our citizens safe.”

The announcement comes as the UK murder rate reaches unprecedented levels; spiking over 40% in just three years as London’s homicides top New York City’s for the first time in recorded history.

LONDON FALLING: Police Describe UK Capital as the ‘WILD WEST’

The soaring murder rate and unsolved crime spree continued in the United Kingdom’s capital this week, with police officers describing the escalating situation as the “wild west” with fewer than one in twenty robberies ending in arrests.

“Less than one in 20 street robberies and burglaries are being solved in the UK, shocking new figures have revealed,” writes the Daily Mail. “Official police data shows that just four per cent of robberies and three per cent of burglaries were solved in England and Wales in 2017.”

The sharp increase in stabbings and shootings comes as local police departments struggle to contain the escalating violence, which has overtaken New York City’s homicide rate for the first time in recorded history.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has come under fire in recent months over the widening security scandal, blaming “budget cuts” for the city’s rampant crime and unsolved burglaries.
