MACRON IN DC: Trump Hosts the French President During First State Visit

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.23.18

French President Emmanuel Macron is set to arrive in Washington, DC Monday; meeting with President Trump just days after the armed forces of the US, UK, and France launched a joint military strike against Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

The 40-year-old European leader’s trip will be the first official state visit of President Trump’s presidency; with the two heads-of-state prepared to hold high-level meetings regarding trade, the Iranian nuclear agreement, the Middle East, and more.

“Both of us are probably mavericks,” Macron told Fox News. “We have a very special relationship… I think the U.S. today has a very strong role to play for peace in different regions of the world, and especially the Mideast.

“He has been one of the few Europeans who has pulled off the trick of building a close and strong working relationship with President Trump,” added one global security analyst.

One key area of discussion will likely center on the President’s recently announced trade tariffs on steel and aluminum; offering exemptions for only Mexico and Canada.

“I hope he will not implement these new tariffs and he will decide for an exemption for the European Union,” Macron said. “You cannot make a trade war with your ally.”

NO DEAL: Iran Threatens to PULL OUT of Nuclear Agreement, Says Deal ‘WON’T SURVIVE’

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.22.18

Iran threatened to completely withdraw from the 2015 International Nuclear Agreement Thursday, saying former President Barack Obama’s landmark deal was having “little effect” on Tehran’s economy and business relationships.

According to the New York Post, the Islamic Republic’s Deputy Foreign Minister announced the possibility during an international conference in London, saying the UK, China, France, Germany, Russia, and the United States’ sanctions against Iran have caused big banks to stay away from major business deals.

“The deal would not survive this way even if the ultimatum is passed and waivers are extended,” said Iran’s lead nuclear negotiator, referring to President Trump’s recent decision to issue a “waiver” that extended the Iranian nuclear agreement.

“If the same policy of confusion and uncertainties about the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) continues, if companies and banks are not working with Iran, we cannot remain in a deal that has no benefit for us,” he added. “That’s a fact.”

“For the Europeans or the world community, when we talk about maintaining the JCPOA and saving it, it’s not a choice between the Iranian or the US market, it’s not a choice for economic cooperation: It’s a choice between having security or insecurity,” warned the Iranian official.

OUCH: White House SLASHES UN BUDGET After Anti-American Vote

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.26.17

United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced a “historic reduction” of the UN budget this weekend, saying the US was prepared to slash the American-sponsored funds by over $285 million.

Hailing the reduction as a “big step in the right direction,” Haley slammed the international organization’s bloated budget and systemic inefficiencies, saying “we will no longer let the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of or remain unchecked.”

“This historic reduction in spending – in addition to many other moves toward a more efficient and accountable U.N. – is a big step in the right direction,” she added.

Last week, the UN overwhelmingly voted to symbolically “rescind” the Trump administration’s historic decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The lop-sided vote, 138-9 with 41 abstentions, saw key US allies siding against the Trump administration and Israel; France, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and others all opposed Trump’s decision to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
