MAGA IN OHIO: Trump-Backed GOP Candidate WINS Special Election

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.08.18

The Trump-backed GOP candidate in Ohio’s special election claimed victory Tuesday night; reportedly defeating his Democratic challenger and denying liberal lawmakers an additional seat in the House of Representatives.

The President campaigned hard for Republican State Senator Troy Balderson in the days leading up to this week’s special election; promoting the candidate as Democrats hoped a landslide victory would signal disaster for the GOP heading into the 2018 midterms.

“When I decided to go to Ohio for Troy Balderson, he was down in early voting 64 to 36. That was not good. After my speech on Saturday night, there was a big turn for the better. Now Troy wins a great victory during a very tough time of the year for voting. He will win BIG in Nov,” tweeted Trump.

The unofficial vote has Balderson with 101,574 votes and his challenger O’Connor wit 99,820; a razor thin difference of just 1,754 votes.

‘BAMA GOES BLUE: Democrat DOUG JONES Wins Alabama Special Election

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.13.17

Democrat Doug Jones narrowly defeated GOP candidate Roy Moore in Alabama’s highly-contested Senatorial special election on Tuesday; sending a liberal legislator to represent the Cotton State for the first time in over two decades.

Jones claimed victory with 99.9% of the vote reporting, clinging to a razor-thin margin of 49.9% to Moore’s 48.4%, saying “We have come so far and the people of Alabama have spoken.”

All eyes now turn to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

“Alabama has been at a crossroads. We have been at crossroads in the past. And unfortunately, we have usually taken the wrong fork. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, you took the right road,” he added.

President Trump congratulated Jones on social media late Tuesday evening, saying the GOP will have “another shot” at the Senate seat in a “very short period of time,” but added that a “win is a win” for the Democratic party.

“Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!” Trump tweeted.

All eyes now turn to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his push to pass tax reform legislation before the GOP majority shrinks by one vote when Jones is sworn into office.

DEMOCRAT DELUSION: Trump THANKS Dems for Bill to REPEAL Tax Cuts

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.29.18

President Trump ironically thanked liberal legislators during the holiday weekend, saying their pledge to repeal the GOP tax cuts is “too good to be true” for Republicans heading into the 2018 midterm elections.

The President praised the lawmakers on social media just days after Democratic Congressman Jared Polis introduced legislation to repeal the GOP-sponsored cuts, saying the new bill would help bolster the GOP in their struggle to retain control of Congress.

“A Democratic lawmaker just introduced a bill to Repeal the GOP Tax Cuts (no chance). This is too good to be true for Republicans…Remember, the Nancy Pelosi Dems are also weak on Crime, the Border and want to be gentle and kind to MS-13 gang members…not good!” Trump tweeted.

The Colorado Representative unveiled his legislation days ago, saying he wrote the bill to stop the President’s “tax giveaways” to wealthy Americans and large corporations; adding “Simple choice this election: President and GOP lose by cozying up to corporate special interests. We win by standing up for students, public schools, and families.”
