The United States Border Patrol detained approximately 180 Central American migrants at a single location this week; arresting the giant group as they rushed the Mexico border into the southern US.
“The U.S. Border Patrol detained a group of 180 undocumented immigrants who crossed the border early Tuesday morning in Sunland Park, N.M.,” reports the El Paso Times. “The apprehension was the second in Sunland Park involving a group of more than 100 migrants in the past three weeks.”
Federal authorities and emergency responders administered first aid to the migrants as they were processed by immigration agents.
“The migrant groups have surrendered to border agents in El Paso and desolate locations such as Antelope Wells, some 122 miles west of El Paso in New Mexico’s Bootheel region,” adds the article.
The news comes just weeks after President Trump declared a “national emergency” along the US-Mexico border; bypassing Congress to fully fund his long-promised border wall.

BETO GOES BERSERK: O’Rourke Calls for the REMOVAL of El Paso Border Wall
Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke called for the removal of El Paso’s critical border wall this week; saying the physical barrier “has not in any way” made the US “safer” and costs “tens of billions of dollars.”
Beto O'Rourke when asked, since Rep. @DanCrenshawTX asked on Twitter, if he would tear down the walls that are already in place: Yes and I think a referendum to do so would pass. pic.twitter.com/ENZuYvdqEa

“Would you -if you could- take the wall down now? Here?” asked MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.
“Yes, Absolutely. I’d take the wall down,” said Beto.
“Here’s what we know… After the Secure Fence Act we built 600 miles of wall and fencing on a 2,000 mile border. What that has done has not in any way made us safer. It cost us tens of billions of dollars to build and to maintain,” he added.
BORDER BREACHED: Central American Migrants ‘Trickling’ into the United States from Tijuana
A “steady trickle” of Central American immigrants traveling with the ‘migrant caravan’ are slowly entering the United States illegally across the southern border; eventually turning themselves over to federal agents rather than wait for months in Mexico.
According to the Associated Press, “A steady trickle of Central American migrants have been finding ways to climb over, tunnel under or slip through the U.S. border wall to plant their feet on U.S. soil and ask for asylum.”
The migrants breached the US-Mexico border with the hopes of avoiding months of wait times as thousands apply for asylum at American Port of Entry across the region.
“But by word of mouth, some have realized they can simply cross into U.S. territory, largely uninhibited by Mexican authorities. In twos or threes — occasionally by the dozen — they arrive at the border wall and manage to get over. Often within minutes, border officers quickly arrive to escort them to detention centers and begin ‘credible fear” interviews,’ adds the AP.
The revelation comes just days after Sen. Ted Cruz introduced legislation that would allocate upwards of $25 billion for President Trump’s signature campaign promise: The border wall.
