MITCH SPEAKS: McConnell Mocks NY Times Over Kavanaugh ‘Ice Throwing Bombshell’

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.02.18

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell unloaded on the New York Times Tuesday over their recent “bombshell” that detailed an incident involving Judge Brett Kavanaugh throwing ice in a bar “in the mid 1980s.”

McConnell was speaking from the Senate Floor this week when he called-out the national newspaper over its coverage of the potential Supreme Court Justice.

“Last night the New York Times unleashed this major story. Get this! Judge Kavanaugh may have been accused of throwing some ice across a college bar in the mid 1980s. Talk about a bombshell!” mocked McConnell.

BOOKER GOES BERSERK: McConnell Suggests ‘ETHICS INQUIRY’ over Cory’s ‘Unusual Behavior’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.07.18

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell weighed-in on Sen. Cory Booker’s “unusual behavior” during Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings this week; saying he “wouldn’t be surprised” if there was an ethics inquiry into his bizarre antics.

McConnell was speaking with radio host Hugh Hewitt when he was asked to comment on Booker’s repeated assertions that he was “breaking the rules” by intentionally leaking Kavanaugh’s confidential emails.

“When you break the Senate rules, it’s something the Ethics Committee could take a look at. And that would be up to them to decide. But it’s routinely looked at [by] the Ethics Committee,” McConnell said. “They have an obligation to look into violations of the Senate rules, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they did.”

Booker fired-back at McConnell over the possible ethics investigation, telling the leading Republican to “bring it!”

“I have really two words to say to Mitch McConnell if he wants to do ethics charges — bring it!” he said.

BREAKING NOW: Senate Republicans Agree to ‘One Week Delay,' FBI Probe into Kavanaugh

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.28.18

Republican leadership in the Senate agreed Friday to a “one week delay” to give the FBI time to investigate allegations of sexual assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh dating back to the early 1980s.

The request -initiated by Sen. Jeff Flake- urged Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to delay the full Senate vote just hours after Dr. Christine Ford and Judge Kavanaugh appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“There’s going to be a supplemental FBI background investigation” Majority Whip Sen. John Cornyn confirmed Friday.

The President signaled a willingness to allow GOP leadership to reschedule the vote earlier Friday after Flake’s announcement, saying “I’m going to rely on all of the people including Senator Grassley, who’s doing a very good job.”
