MUELLER’S MILLIONS: DOJ Has Spent Over $17 MILLION on Russia Probe So Far

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.02.18

The Department of Justice has spent over $17 million on its investigation into Russian election interference since last May, says a new financial report published Thursday by the DOJ.

The report shows the department spent nearly $7 million from May 2017 until October 2017, and an additional $10 million to date; bringing the total to over $17 million worth of tax payer money to probe the Kremlin’s involvement in the 2016 race for the White House.

Special counsel Robert Mueller was appointed in May 2017 after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from any investigation into the Trump campaign, setting the stage for the high-stakes showdown between the President and the special counsel.

The President slammed the report Thursday, saying “At what point does this soon to be $20,000,000 Witch Hunt, composed of 13 Angry and Heavily Conflicted Democrats and two people who have worked for Obama for 8 years, STOP!”

MUELLER MAYHEM: Federal Judge REJECTS Special Counsel’s Request for Delay

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.07.18

A second federal judge flat-out rebuked special counsel Robert Mueller over the weekend; rejecting his request to delay a court hearing in a criminal case surrounding Russian election meddling using social media.

According to Politico, Judge Dabney Friedrich issued a “brief order” Saturday that denied Mueller’s request to delay the scheduled hearing Friday evening; offering no explanation and setting the stage for a high-stake showdown between the special counsel’s office and 13 Russian nations indicted for interfering in the 2016 election.

The judge’s decision comes just hours after another federal judge rebuked Mueller’s team during hearings in the case against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort; accusing the special counsel’s office of using Manafort to launch “impeachment” procedures against the President.

“You don’t really care about Mr. Manafort,” said the judge. “You really care about what information Mr. Manafort can give you to lead you to Mr. Trump and an impeachment, or whatever.”

MUELLER MAYHEM: Senate Panel APPROVES Legislation to ‘Protect Mueller’

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.26.18

The Senate Judiciary Committee led by Sen. Chuck Grassley voted Thursday to approve legislation that would protect special counsel Robert Mueller from being fired by the President.

According to the Hill, the panel approved the decision in a 14-7 vote that split Republican members down the middle. In all, four GOP senators supported the legislation, including Sens. Tillis, Graham, Grassley, and Flake.

The bill was opposed by Sens. Hatch, Lee, Cornyn, Crapo, Sasse, Kennedy, and Cruz.

“The vote marks the first time Congress has advanced legislation to formally protect Mueller from being fired by President Trump, who has railed against him in public and reportedly talked in private of dismissing him,” writes the Hill.

The proposal now rests in the hands of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who will decide if and when the legislation receives a full vote on the Senate floor.

“I’m the one who decides what we take to the floor, that’s my responsibility as the majority leader, and we will not be having this on the floor of the Senate,” McConnell said earlier this month.
