NEW YORK SUMMIT? Trump and Kim Eye a Second Meeting in the Big Apple

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.02.18

President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are preparing a possible second summit in the heart of the Big Apple in the coming months, with both nations seeking to “gain momentum” in the total disarmament of the Korean peninsula.

According to the New York Post, administration insiders say the two leaders could meet as early as September when the United Nations General Assembly convenes; adding the face-to-face negotiations would only take place of Pyongyang makes concrete steps towards ending its nuclear program.

“We know exactly what the risks are of them using negotiations to drag out the length of time they have to continue their nuclear, chemical, biological weapons programs and ballistic missiles,” said National Security Advisor John Bolton over the weekend.

“There’s not any starry-eyed feeling among the group doing this,” he added. ”It’s to North Korea’s advantage to see these programs dismantled very quickly, because then the elimination of sanctions, aid by South Korea and Japan and others can all begin to flow.”

BACK IN BEIJING: Kim Jong Un in CHINA to Brief Officials on Singapore Summit

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.19.18

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was back in Beijing this week, speaking with Chinese officials over his historic summit with President Trump and the possible denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Kim traveled to Beijing Tuesday to meet with President Xi Jinping in their first face-to-face meeting since the Singapore Summit; making the trip his third visit to China this year.

“Trump agreed to work with Kim toward complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, committed to provide the North with security guarantees and pledged to end ‘war games’ with South Korea, which North Korea and China have long seen as provocative,” writes the New York Post.

“We hope this visit can help to further deepen China-North Korea relations, strengthen strategic communication between both countries on important issues and promote regional peace and stability,” said a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry.

HISTORIC HUDDLE: US and North Korean Officials Hold EXPANDED Meetings in Singapore

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.11.18

President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have entered the second-phase of their negotiations Tuesday morning in Singapore, holding expanded meetings with top officials from both governments; including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Trump and Kim sat with senior aides and translators in a Singapore resort Tuesday following the two leaders’ one-on-one meeting that lasted approximately 45 minutes; setting the stage for a possible normalization of relations between the United States and North Korea.

The high-level negotiations come just hours before both leaders are set to depart from Singapore, but insiders describe Trump and Kim’s travel plans as “fluid,” meaning both teams could opt to stay longer should positive developments occur.

After a brief photo op for the international press, each team will pursue its agenda during the high-stakes meeting, with the American delegation pushing for a complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and the communist regime seeking security guarantees and large-scale US investment in the region.
