NO THANKS: Furious Fan FINED for BURNING NFL Merchandise

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.08.17

The individual who organized a bonfire counter-protest against NFL players who disrespected the national anthem was hit with a $500 fine on Thursday, but vows he will never pay the penalty; adding he will take the case all the way up to the US Supreme Court.

The Massachusetts man, identified as Mark Shane, hosted a fiery protest outside his home earlier this year, encouraging NFL fans upset over protesting players to burn their merchandise and collectables as a demonstration against athletes “taking a knee.”

“There should be no doubt what our veterans think about not standing for the National Anthem or disrespecting our flag.” said Shane.

The protest grew so large, local police shut down local roads for upwards of three hours to accommodate the massive crowds.

“I love my country much more than a football game, so that’s why I’m here,” one protester told the local ABC news affiliate.

On Thursday, Shane was hit with a $500 fine for the event, but pledged the government would never see a penny of that money.

“It’s not about the money,” Shane told ABC. “It’s about the principle […] I am protected by the Constitution.”
