NO THANKS: New Poll Shows MOST Viewers Have ‘HAD ENOUGH’ of NFL Protests

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.15.18

A new poll conducted by Fox News shows a stunning majority of NFL fans believe “political correctness” is ruining the once-loved all-American league; raising serious questions for the troubled game as it prepares for its 2018 season.

The survey shows that 68% of those asked believe “Political correctness has gone too far” after months of players “taking a knee” during the performance of the US national anthem, with just 19% saying “no.”

To make matters worse, a whopping 46% believe political and business leaders “frequently” base their decisions and actions “because they are worried about being politically correct.”

“Among Republicans, most feel the country is too PC (83 percent) and almost all think leaders regularly make bad decisions out of fear of being politically incorrect (89 percent),” writes Fox.

FUMBLE: NFL Ratings PLUMMET Following League's War on USA

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.03.17

Just hours after President Trump called for a nationwide boycott against NFL players who disrespect the US national anthem, the National Football League suffered a devastating ratings drop as viewers tuned-out of their Day of Protest on Sunday.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell weighed-in on the President’s fiery comments, releasing a statement moments before kick-off over the weekend.

“The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture,” wrote Goodell. “Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players.”

The President fired-back on social media, blasting the Commissioner for “trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country.”

According to Forbes, the ratings are in for this weekend’s NFL games and they don’t look good.

The Redskins-Raiders television viewership was down a staggering 11% from last year’s totals. Other games also under-performed, with similar head-to-head match-ups down 16%.

The President kicked-off a national firestorm last week during a political event in Alabama, slamming protesting NFL players for “disrespecting” the flag and urging team owners and league officials to fine or fire athletes who refuse to stand for the national anthem.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b**** off the field right now, out, he’s fired. He’s fired,'” Trump told the crowd.

FUMBLE: 'Monday Night Football' Ratings TANK to Season Low

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.20.17

The National Football League continues to hemorrhage fans as player protests during the national anthem continue into their tenth week; with television ratings for the NFL’s flagship ‘Monday Night Football’ reaching near-season lows as angry viewers change the channel.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the embattled league’s ratings took a major hit following the weekend’s Veteran’s Day protests, with three Miami Dolphins players “taking a knee” during Monday night’s match-up as the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ filled the stadium.

“All of which saw the Week 10 MNF snag a 6.2 in metered market results last night. While likely to be the winner on both broadcast and cable, that is a decline of 18% from last week’s Monday Night Football,” writes Deadline. “Perhaps more painful for the Disney-owned cabler and the league is that last night’s game was basically steady in MM numbers with the MNF season low of October 17 when the Tennessee Titans beat the Indianapolis Colts.”

The NFL has been struggling to regain its footing following weeks of players choosing to “take a knee” during the performance of the US national anthem.

The ensuing controversy gained national attention when President Trump called for a total boycott of the NFL until officials and owners require players to stand during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’
