French authorities are bracing for another weekend of violent protests throughout the country; deploying armed security forces and vehicles to major cities and highways in preparation for the widespread ‘Yellow Vest’ demonstrations.
“Anticipating a fifth straight weekend of violent protests, Paris’ police chief said Friday that armored vehicles and thousands of officers will be deployed again in the French capital this weekend,” writes the Associated Press.
“Last week, we pretty much handled the yellow vests but we also witnessed scenes of breakage and looting by criminals,” said the Paris police chief. “Our goal will be to better control this aspect.”
France continues to be on high-alert following a deadly terrorist attack Tuesday evening in Strasbourg, where 29-year-old Cherif Chekatt opened fire at a crowded Christmas Market; killing at least three and injuring eight.

BAD TIMING: Gore Launches 24-Hour ‘Climate Tax’ Campaign as France REVOLTS Against ‘Climate Tax’
Former Vice President and climate-change crusader Al Gore kicked off his 24-hour ‘reality’ broadcast promoting a global ‘climate tax’ this week; perfectly coinciding with the worst riots France has seen in over 50 years over Emmanuel Macron’s proposed ‘climate tax.’
“All of it is felt most keenly by the world’s most disadvantaged people,” said Gore Tuesday, “It’s up to each and everyone of us now to demand that our leaders do more.”

“A dramatic shift is underway, but it must be accelerated by new policies,” Gore added.
French President Emmanuel Macron partially caved to the “Yellow Vest” protesters this week; announcing a six-month suspension of his so-called ‘fuel tax’ as gasoline supplies dwindle throughout the country.

CHAOS IN PARIS: French Capital ROCKED by Anti-Macron Protests, ‘Hundreds’ Arrested
The anti-Macron ‘Yellow Vest’ protests continued to rock the French capital Saturday, with hundreds arrested after countless demonstrators took to the streets of Paris in opposition to rising fuel prices and the skyrocketing cost-of-living across the country.
“A fourth weekend of antigovernment protests turned violent on Saturday, with demonstrators in Paris ripping down barricades from store fronts and setting vehicles on fire, while riot police fired tear gas and water cannons to control the crowds,” writes the New York Times.
“The so-called Yellow Vests descended on the capital by the thousands, even as the police turned out in force, blocking off roads and monuments and arresting more than 700 people, many before they could even reach the main site of the demonstrations along Paris’s main artery, the Champs-Élysées,” adds the article.
The protests -largely sparked by a scheduled increase in the already high ‘fuel tax’- has since morphed into a widespread, anti-Macron movement across France.
