PELOSI FLIPS: Nancy Turns on ‘Unacceptable’ John Conyers

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.28.17

On the heels of a disastrous interview in which former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi defended embattled democratic lawmaker John Conyers, the House Minority Leader is now changing her tune; saying she believes his accusers and calling his behavior “unacceptable.”

Pelosi came under fire from both Democrats and Republicans on Monday, following an appearance on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ where the liberal lawmaker wouldn’t say if she “believed” Rep. John Conyers’ accusers.

The House Minority Leader released an official statement shortly after, slamming her Democratic colleague and saying she was deeply “disappointed” by his actions.

“This afternoon, I spoke with Melanie Sloan who worked for Congressman Conyers on the Judiciary Committee in the mid-1990s. Ms. Sloan told me that she had publicly discussed distressing experiences while on his staff. I find the behavior Ms. Sloan described unacceptable and disappointing. I believe what Ms. Sloan has told me,” says the statement.

“I have not had the opportunity to speak with the other women, one of whom cannot speak publicly because of the secretive settlement process in place. That ridiculous system must be ended and victims who want to come forward to the Ethics Committee must be able to do so,” she added.
