PENCE AT CPAC: ‘Make No Mistake About It, We Will Build That Wall’

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.22.18

Vice President Mike Pence vowed to follow through on President Trump’s signature campaign promise Thursday; telling audience members during his 2018 CPAC address that the administration is “going to build that wall.”

The Vice President was delivering his remarks at the annual conservative gathering when he pledged to “build the wall” along the United States’ southern border with Mexico; saying “President Trump promised to enforce our laws and secure our borders.”

“President Trump promised to enforce our laws, secure our borders, and today illegal crossings at our southern border have been cut nearly in half and make no mistake about it, we’re going to build that wall,” said Pence to loud cheers from the audience.

With Congress setting its sights on immigration reform in the coming weeks, President Trump has routinely stated there can be no agreement on DACA without fully funding his proposed border wall.

IMMIGRATION SHOWDOWN: White House Unveils Official BORDER WALL, DACA Plan

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.26.18

The White House officially unveiled the framework of its highly-anticipated immigration reform plan this week, offering a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million ‘Dreamers’ in exchange for $25 billion in funding for the President’s signature campaign promise: The border wall.

According to Reuters, President Trump plans to promote the overhaul next week, touting the benefits of a physical barrier along the US-Mexico border, ending “chain migration” and the visa lottery, as well as finding a permanent solution to DACA.

During an impromptu press conference Wednesday night, Trump sent a re-assuring message to those who were brought to the United States illegally as young children, commonly known as ‘Dreamers,’ saying they “should not be concerned.”

“Tell them not to be concerned, ok? Tell them not to worry. We’re going to solve the problem. It’s up to the Democrats, but they should not be concerned,” said the President.

GOP Senator Lindsey Graham threw his full support behind the President’s immigration overhaul, adding he was hopeful that Republican and Democrats could come together behind the proposal.

“President Trump’s support for a pathway to citizenship will help us get strong border security measures as we work to modernize a broken immigration system,” said Graham. “With this strong statement by President Trump, I have never felt better about our chances of finding a solution on immigration.”

'TOTAL CATASTROPHE': Four Separate IMMIGRATION BILLS FAIL in US Senate

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.16.18

Four separate immigration bills crashed and burned in the US Senate this week, capping off a week of fiery debate, negotiations, and eventually defeat as both the President’s proposal and a bipartisan bill failed to secure enough votes.

Trump’s four-part immigration plan -which would provide a pathway to citizenship for nearly two million ‘Dreamers,’ fund his border wall, and end “chain” migration- went down in defeat, with many Republicans joining their Democrat colleagues and sinking the bill in a 39-60 vote.

The Senate’s bipartisan deal also fell short just hours after Trump threatened to veto the bill he described as a “total catastrophe.”

“The Schumer-Rounds-Collins immigration bill would be a total catastrophe. @DHSgov says it would be ‘the end of immigration enforcement in America.’ It creates a giant amnesty (including for dangerous criminals), doesn’t build the wall, expands chain migration, keeps the visa,” Trump tweeted.

The Senate’s inability to pass any immigration deal comes as the March 5th deadline looms with the nation’s DACA program officially expiring; throwing into question the fate of millions of ‘Dreamers’ currently residing in the United States.
