A knife-yielding madman wounded at least 14 people in a northern German city Friday, seriously injuring two in an unprovoked attack on a public bus, according to the Daily Mail.

“Police spokesman Duerk Duerbrook said the attack took place in the Kuecknitz district of Luebeck. Authorities were still trying to determine the circumstances of the attack,” writes the Daily Mail. “According to local reports, witnesses say the bus was packed with passengers when a man dropped a ‘smoldering backpack’ and started attacking people.”
Police arrested the attacker on the scene after the bus driver slammed on the brakes and opened all doors so passengers could avoid the knifeman.

BIO-ATTACK AVERTED: Authorities Foil POISON TERROR Plot in Germany
Authorities and police averted a potentially devastating biological terror attack in Germany Thursday, foiling an “Islamic extremist” plot to unleash a deadly agent somewhere in the country.
According to the Associated Press, German authorities confirmed the arrest of Sief Allah H., whose surname couldn’t be revealed due to the country’s harsh privacy laws; adding the man was actively working on a “biological weapon.”
Investigators recovered the deadly biological agent ricin -created from the seeds of castor beans- at the scene.
“The suspect is believed to have begun procuring material online in mid-May, prosecutors said. He succeeded in creating the toxin this month and investigators found it in the apartment search,” writes the AP. “Prosecutors wouldn’t say how much ricin the suspect had produced.”
“He had contacts with people in the jihadist spectrum,” said a spokesperson with the prosecution.

BORDER CHAOS: America TOPS GERMANY for Most Asylum Applications in 2017
Stunning new data released by the United Nations reveals that the United States now has more asylum requests than Germany; a country that has admitted more than one million refugees since 2015.
The UN Refugee Agency published the statistics Tuesday, showing that individual asylum applications in the US rose by 27% in 2017; reaching over 330,000 new requests and topping Germany’s 198,000.
“Meanwhile, more people last year from parts of North and Central America ‘undertook the perilous journey northwards to seek asylum in Mexico and the United States of America,’” writes Politico.
“We are at a watershed, where success in managing forced displacement globally requires a new and far more comprehensive approach so that countries and communities aren’t left dealing with this alone,” added the UN report.
