The United States Capitol Police arrested an unidentified man Monday after he threatened to murder Sen. Rand Paul and his family with an ax, reports the Courier Journal.
The man was taken into custody by law enforcement after threatening the GOP Senator and his entire family through violent phone calls placed to Paul’s Kentucky office.
“Capitol Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man who threatened to kill me and chop up my family with an axe,” Paul said. “It’s just horrendous that we have to deal with things like this.”

RAND PAUL ATTACKED: US Senator Rand Paul ASSAULTED in Kentucky
United States Senator Rand Paul was viciously assaulted at his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky over the weekend; receiving five fractured ribs and a bruised lung during a violent altercation with his neighbor.
Top staffer Doug Stafford released a public statement Sunday, saying the junior Senator from Kentucky received serious injuries that will take “weeks” to heal.
“Senator Paul has five rib fractures including 3 displaced fractures,” Stafford told the Bowling Green Daily News. “This type of injury is caused by high velocity severe force. It is not clear exactly how soon he will return to work, as the pain is considerable as is the difficulty in getting around, including flying.”
Rene Boucher, Paul’s 59-year-old neighbor was arrested on Friday and charged with assaulting the GOP lawmaker.
Court filings say Boucher “tackled Paul from behind,” and viciously attacked the Senator while he was on the ground.
“Senator Paul and Kelley appreciate everyone’s thoughts and well wishes and he will be back fighting for liberty in the Senate soon,” added Stafford.
VICIOUS: Music Star Calls for PHYSICAL VIOLENCE Against RAND PAUL During Senate Speech
Iconic musician and actress Bette Midler raised eyebrows on social media Friday, openly calling for physical violence against Senator Rand Paul following his impassioned Senate speech to restrain government spending and slash the federal deficit.
Midler posted her incendiary tweet while Paul delivered his hours-long address to Congress, hoping to derail the bipartisan budget deal as it made its way towards the President’s desk.
“Where’s Rand Paul’s neighbor when we need him?” tweeted the music star, referring to Paul’s physical altercation with his neighbor earlier this year that broke six ribs and damaged his lungs.
