REPORT: Vermont Bill Would Permit ‘Abortion for Any Reason’ Until ‘Point of Birth’

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.06.19

Vermont lawmakers followed their counterparts in New York and Virginia this week; pushing for new legislation that would permit an abortion for “any reason” until the “point of birth.”

“The right to abortion bill, which has 91 co-sponsors, goes beyond the scope of Roe v. Wade, which protects a fetus that can survive outside the mother’s womb. In Vermont, an abortion could be performed up until the point of birth for any reason,” reports Fox News.

“I think it’s completely dangerous, irresponsible, poorly written and should be voted down,” said one pro-life activist.

The legislation was partially drafted by Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States.

“Legislators did come to us to ask us for our opinions and for our input on the bill, and I think that’s because they see us as experts. We are experts in this field and in the area of reproductive rights,” said Lucy Leriche of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

DEVELOPING: Sponsor of Late-Term Abortion Bill Apologizes, Says ‘I Didn’t Read It’

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.31.19

A Democratic co-sponsor of a controversial late-term abortion bill apologized Thursday; claiming she didn’t read the entirety of the text before signing-on to the legislation .

Delegate Dawn Adams of Richmond sent an email to Virginia voters hours a viral video revealed the new law could permit “infanticide” in the immediate aftermath of giving birth.

“By now you have heard about the abortion bill, or seen the video,” Adams said in an email. “I vaguely remember signing on to this, and I did this in solidarity with my colleague and as a symbolic gesture for a woman’s right to choose.”

“I did not read a bill I agreed to co-patron and that wasn’t smart or typical. I will work harder and be better for it,” she added. “I am sorry that I did not exercise due diligence before this explosion of attention; had I done so, I would not have co-patroned.”

NY GOVERNOR: I’m ‘Not Here to Legislate Religion’ Regarding Late-Term Abortions

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.30.19

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo doubled-down on his state’s recent law permitting late-term abortions Wednesday; saying he was not in office to “legislate religion” following the controversial decision.

The new legislation allows non-doctors to perform abortions “up until the point of birth” for many, non-specified reasons.

“The Catholic Church doesn’t believe in a woman’s right to choose. Yes, I understand their religious view,” he said. “But I’m not here to legislate religion.”

“Bishops attacking Governor Cuomo,” chuckled Cuomo. “Let’s pull that headline up from about 30 years ago.”

“The law has come under fire by devout Catholics and religious leaders, who call it draconian and inhumane. Some Catholic leaders have called on Cuomo to be excommunicated for championing the law,” writes Fox News.
