SHOCK POLL: New Yorkers View Ocasio-Cortez as City’s ‘Biggest Villain’ After Amazon Disaster

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.18.19

A recent poll published by Siena College spelled bad news for Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez this week; showing most New Yorkers view the liberal politician as the city’s “biggest villain” following the recent Amazon headquarters disaster.

“According to a newly published poll from Siena College, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is seen as New York’s ‘biggest villain’ when it comes to Amazon’s decision to spurn New York and pull part of its second headquarters out of Long Island City,” reports Fox News.

“Who do New Yorkers blame? Well, there’s certainly blame enough to go around. More people think that Amazon, Governor Cuomo, Mayor de Blasio, the State Senate, and local Queens activists were villains in this saga than they were heroes,” Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said. “However, voters say the biggest villain was Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Only 12 percent call her hero, while 38 percent label her a villain.”

“Amazon itself was seen as the biggest villain among Democrats, but Republicans and independents had Ocasio-Cortez as far and away the largest villain, followed by the local Queens activists,” added the statement.

AOC VS AMAZON: Cortez Says Amazon Can Return to NYC if they ‘Consult’ Local Communities

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.05.19

Embattled Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez opened the door for Amazon to return to the Big Apple this week; saying the technology giant must “consult” local communities that would be impacted by the new headquarters.

“One of the most concerning aspects in what happened with the deal previously is you have all of these folks in Long Island City, in Sunnyside, in Woodside and all the way out to Jackson Heights, that will be impacted by this and they were not consulted,” said Cortez at her New York City office Monday.

“What [Ocasio-Cortez] was vocal about was the process by which it happened,” her Chief of Staff told Bloomberg TV. “The deal was sort of sprung on the community without any input and there’s a real cost whenever tech companies come in without community input, rents go up, people get evicted, there’s an actual human cost that is associated with Amazon coming in.”

Cortez found herself in hot-water among New Yorkers after her fiery rhetoric and fierce opposition forced Amazon to abandon their plans to relocate to the Big Apple; effectively killing 25,000 new jobs and upwards of $27 billion in tax revenue.

AOC VS FEC: GOP Group Files Election Complaint Against Cortez Campaign

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.27.19

A Republican-backed organization filed a last-minute complaint with the Federal Election Commission Wednesday; accusing the Ocasio-Cortez campaign of violating rules by “funneling” thousands of dollars to her boyfriend.

“Members of the Washington, D.C.-based Coolidge Reagan Foundation allege in their complaint that when the Brand New Congress PAC (BNC) — a political arm of Brand New Congress LLC, a company that was hired by Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., to run and support her campaign — paid Roberts for marketing services, it potentially ran afoul of campaign finance law,” reports Fox News.

“It’s not illegal for [Ocasio-Cortez] to pay her boyfriend, but it appears that they created some sort of scheme to avoid claiming the money [as a campaign expense],” said one D.C.-based attorney who launched the complaint. “What exactly did he do for that money?”
