SHOOTOUT AT TRUMP RESORT: ‘Anti-Trump’ Gunman Arrested After OPENING FIRE

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.18.18

A man screaming ‘anti-Trump rhetoric’ was shot and arrested in Florida after exchanging gunfire with local law enforcement in the lobby of a golf resort owned by the President, reports Fox News.

The incident occurred near Miami, Florida early Friday at the Trump National Doral Golf Club, when 42-year-old Jonathan Oddi “burst” into the lobby wearing an American flag and opened fire.

“This guy was ready for war, he was waiting for our officers to come in,” said Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez, adding the gunman was “yelling and spewing some information about President Trump.”

Oddi was “neutralized” by police officers after a brief shootout; sustaining multiple gunshot wounds and being rushed to a nearby hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

“It appears he was trying to engage our police officers… in some type of ambush-style attack,” Perez said. “He prepared the area for battle.”

“In my opinion, they probably saved a hell of a lot of lives today, because this could have gone a lot worse,” he added.

FLORIDA FALLOUT: Marjory Stoneman to Require CLEAR BACKPACKS After Shooting

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.22.18

The Broward County high school where 19-year old gunman Nikolas Cruz murdered seventeen people is instituting new security policies within the next two weeks; requiring all students to carry “clear backpacks” provided by the school at no charge.

The new guidelines were issued after Zachary Cruz -the suspects brother- illegally entered the school to visit the site of his sibling’s slaughter; subsequently being arrested and held on $500,000 bail.

The Broward County School Superintendent issued a letter to parents of students attending the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida this week, detailing the school’s updated security protocol.

According to the New York Times, other procedures include new ID badges to be worn at all times and new metal-detecting equipment at the school’s entrances and exits.

“Someone is not going to go through a metal detector with an AR-15,” said the superintendent.

The revised guidelines come after three Stoneman Douglas students were arrested earlier this week, allegedly making threats on social media platforms and bringing knives onto the campus.

FLORIDA FALLOUT: State Senate VOTES DOWN Assault Ban, Plans to ARM TEACHERS

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.05.18

The Florida Senate voted to reject an “assault weapons” ban in the immediate aftermath of the deadly school shooting that shocked the nation earlier this month, striking down the proposal while defeating further legislation that aimed to block teachers from carrying firearms on school property.

In a vote largely split down party lines, the lawmakers defeated the “assault weapon proposal” 20-17, reports Yahoo News. Similarly, another amendment that sought to remove a provision to “train and arm” specific teachers throughout the state also failed.

The full legislation, titled the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, is expected to pass the Florida Senate this week; aiming to promote school safety and crackdown on individuals with mental health issues from obtaining firearms.

Major features of the legislations include raising the minimum age of purchasing a weapon to 21 throughout the state, banning bump stock modifications, and increasing funding for schools to focus on mental health by $400 million.

The bill seeks to promote school safety for teachers and students in the wake of 19-year old Nikolas Cruz’ devastating assault on a Parkland, Florida high school; killing seventeen people and injuring scores more.
