Socialist superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued to raise eyebrows among American voters this week; bizarrely lamenting a coffee shop closure that buckled under the weight of her own proposal to provide a “living wage.”
Cortez once worked at the restaurant in New York City’s Union Square neighborhood; saying “The restaurant I used to work at is closing its doors. I swung by today to say hi one last time, and kid around with friends like old times. I’m a normal, working person who chose to run for office, because I believe we can have a better future. You can do it too. We all can.”

One problem: The owner of the eatery told the New York Post he was closing his doors over the rising minimum wage; adding he employs over 150 people and couldn’t keep up with Cortez’ demands for a “living wage.”
“The times have changed in our industry … the rents are very high and now the minimum wage is going up and we have a huge number of employees,” he told the Post.

CORTEZ CONFUSION: Cortez Cites PARKS, ‘Eating Sandwiches’ as 'Examples of Socialism'
Liberal superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez left American voters scratching their heads this week; bizarrely citing National Parks and eating breakfast sandwiches as examples of Democratic Socialism.
Cortez posted the strange comments on social media after returning from a “few days off” spent at Acadia National Park; citing the nature preserve and “supporting worker-owned businesses” as American “examples of Democratic Socialism.”
Back home after a lovely few days off enjoying US examples of Democratic Socialism, like:
– Acadia National Park
– Café Co-ops (Def Top 5 best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had 🍳)
– Supporting worker-owned businesses
– Bonus: Spotted a @PPact helping people, per usual✌🏽💜 pic.twitter.com/xmiYXutfpS— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) August 19, 2018
Cortez’ comments come just days after she came under fire for banning press and journalists from a series of town hall events; adding the speaking engagements were considered “sanctuary spaces.”
CORTEZ CONFUSION: Socialist Star Says Trump Tried to ‘BAN ALL MUSLIMS’ From US
Liberal superstar and New York Democratic Socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez unloaded on the Trump administration this week, falsely claiming the White House was trying to “ban Muslims” from entering the United States.
Cortez slammed the President on social media Monday, saying his administration’s attempt to “ban Muslims” was based on their worldview “where the expansion of one’s rights must come at the cost of another’s.”
I highly doubt that Sessions and this administration, who fought to ban Muslims from this country, value “religious liberty” at all.
They believe in and prop up a false, zero-sum world where the expansion of one’s rights must come at the cost of another’s.

Cortez found herself in hot water in recent days after the left-wing candidate referred to Israeli settlers as the “occupiers of Palestine” and claimed closing tax “loopholes” would finance a universal healthcare system in the United States.
