Christopher Steele, the former British Spy and author of the debunked ‘Trump Dossier,’ broke his silence this week; sending an email that warned of “strange and troubling times” and “one-sided governance.”
Steele sent the cryptic message to Vanity Fair editor Radhika Jones after he was included in their 2018 New Establishment List; saying he hoped to “speak unpalatable truths to power.”
“In these strange and troubling times, it is hard to speak unpalatable truths to power, but I believe we all still have a duty to do so. I salute those on your list, and otherwise, who have had the courage to speak out over the last year, often at great personal cost,” wrote Steele.
“At a time when governance is so distorted and one-sided, as I believe it currently is in the United States, the media has a key role to play in holding it accountable,” he added.
Christopher Steele made global headlines during the 2016 election when he released the infamous ‘Trump Dossier,’ a 35-page document filled with salacious and unconfirmed reports surrounding then-candidate Donald Trump.

ANTI-TRUMP AMNESIA: GOP Rep. Says Ohr Has ‘POOR MEMORY’ Surrounding Steele Relationship
GOP Rep. Darrel Issa accused DOJ official Bruce Ohr of having a “poor memory” during his Congressional testimony Tuesday; slamming the anti-Trump administrator after repeatedly deflecting questions surrounding his relationship with a former British spy.
Ohr appeared before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committee this week to answer serious questions about his behind-the-scenes dealings with Christopher Steele, the author of the debunked ‘Trump Dossier.’
“He seems to not remember a lot of details and, you know, poor memories are often claimed by people who want to stick to what they can say and not be caught in perjury,” said Rep. Issa.
“I don’t know if it’s improper but I want to know who at DOJ knew and it certainly looks like he continued to meet with Mr. Steele after the FBI had terminated their relationship with Mr. Steele,” added Rep. Jim Jordan following the hearing.

ADAM’S ADMISSION: Schiff Memo ACTUALLY CONFIRMS FBI’s Misuse of ‘Trump Dossier’
Ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff released his highly-anticipated “rebuttal” to Rep. Devin Nunes’ bombshell FISA report over the weekend; inadvertently confirming the FBI’s use of the ‘Trump Dossier’ to obtain surveillance warrants.
According to former assistant US attorney Andrew McCarthy, Schiff’s report details the bureau’s use of Christopher Steele’s shady dossier to obtain FISA warrants against the Trump campaign, saying the Democrat “rebuttal” shows the “FBI and Justice Department heavily relied on the Steel Dossier’s uncorroborated allegations.”
“You know this is true because, notwithstanding the claim that ‘only narrow use’ was made ‘of information from Steele’s sources,’ the Democrats end up acknowledging that ‘only narrow use’ actually means significant use,” writes McCarthy in the National Review.
Schiff’s memo comes weeks after Nunes released his four-page bombshell report that raised serious questions over how the DOJ used the Clinton-financed Trump dossier to obtain FISA warrants against at least one Trump associate.
Congressional leaders -such as Sen. Chuck Grassley- have vowed to get to the bottom of whether former Obama officials used the shady document to illegally spy on the Trump campaign ahead of the 2016 election.
