TESTER IN TROUBLE: Libertarian Candidate Drops Out of Montana Senate Race, BACKS GOP

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.01.18

The Libertarian candidate in Montana’s three-way Senate showdown abruptly dropped out the race Wednesday night; accusing Democrat Sen. Jon Tester of using “illegal campaign mailers” to syphon votes away from his opponents.

Libertarian Rick Breckenridge withdrew from the race Wednesday after learning of the mailers, throwing his full support behind GOP candidate Matt Rosendale. Recent polls show Tester and Rosendale in a neck-and-neck race.

“The reality is I’m only going to get 3 or 4 percent of the vote, and [Rosendale] has the character to combat this issue,” Breckenridge told the Associated Press, referencing the “dark money” mailer. “I’m standing in unity and solidarity with Matt to combat dark money in politics.”

“This is yet another lie from Matt Rosendale – our campaign had nothing to do with this mailer, and Jon believes all campaign expenditures should be disclosed,” said a spokesperson from the Tester campaign.

“Matt Rosendale wants to use drones and patrols to spy on our private lives,” the unattributed mailer said. “Rick Breckenridge is a true conservative and opposes government intrusion into Montanans’ private lives.”

BERNED OUT: Sanders-Backed Candidates LOSING STEAM Ahead of 2018 Midterms

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.13.18

Vermont Senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders appears to be losing clout within the Democratic Party in recent months; posting a series of surprise losses after intervening in races across the country.

Politico published a scathing critique of the socialist lawmaker in recent says, titled “Bernie and his army are losing 2018.”

The article shows Sanders supporters failing to win Democratic primaries in key districts; falling to centrist Democrats and Republican challengers.

“Two years after his defeat in the 2016 presidential primary, the Vermont senator has amassed a growing string of losses in races in which he has intervened. Beginning last year, Sanders-backed candidates faltered in an Omaha mayoral race and a nationally watched House race in Montana,” writes Politico.

Sanders and fellow Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez campaigned across the country in recent days, but largely failed to sway moderate voters to cast their ballots for the hyper-liberal candidates.

NECK AND NECK: Republicans ‘Show Strength’ in Early Voting, Races Tightening Across US

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.24.18

New election data released Wednesday suggests Republicans may have a slight lead in early voting across the US; dampening expectations for the media’s predicted “blue wave” less than two weeks before Americans head to the polls

According to Fox News, “Early voting numbers from several key battleground states now show Republican voters turning out in far greater numbers than Democratic ones, signaling an initial GOP surge that may dull the prospects of a so-called ‘blue wave’ on Nov. 6.”

“Republican voters have taken the lead in turnout numbers in Georgia, Indiana, Montana, Texas, Tennessee, Florida and Arizona — states that Fox News analyses show are the scenes of close and pivotal House, Senate and gubernatorial races,” adds the article.

The tightening races are prompting leading Democrats -including DNC Chair Tom Perez and Sen. Bernie Sanders- to reduce expectations of a total progressive take-over this November.
