THE BAD OLD DAYS? Murder Rate SPIKES 55% in De Blasio’s NYC

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.21.19

After years of economic growth and a massive drop in crime statistics across all five boroughs, New York City’s murder rate spiked a stunning 55% in the early weeks of 2019, according to statistics released by the NYPD.

“Murder rates in New York City are up 55 percent in 2019 compared to the same time frame in 2018, according to NYPD statistics,” reports Fox News. “From the start of 2019 through Sunday, there have been 48 murders in New York City, compared to 31 in the same seven-week time frame in 2018.”

Despite the surge in homicides, overall crime statistics are down 8% across the Big Apple.

The NYPD also confirmed the major uptick in murders took place in North Brooklyn.

“The NYPD takes every crime seriously, and any murder is one too many,” said a statement from the police department. “The NYPD will use these proven tactics to address any temporary upticks, so that every New Yorker — regardless of zip code — can live in safety.”

De Blasio will head to New Hampshire Thursday and will speak with leaders and activist groups through the end of the week.

DE BLASIO DEFLECTS: NYC Mayor Blames Big Apple CHAOS on ‘Bad Luck’

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.16.18

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio deflected fierce criticism of his administration’s handling of a mild November snowstorm Friday; blaming the total chaos on “bad luck” and unreliable weather reports.

The prominent Democrat was speaking with NY1 when he was asked to respond to furious residents after the normally congested evening commute took some locals 12 hours to travel just four or five miles.

“There are definitely some things we need to learn from this and things we need to do better,” admitted the mayor. “But it’s also important to note we got just about every form of bad luck we could have gotten yesterday. The weather service reports changed radically yesterday.”

“I can’t remember that happening previously in the middle of what seemed to be a normal day,” said de Blasio on the sudden closure of the George Washington Bridge during rush hour. “That really threw everything off. That had a horrible, extreme reaction on the entire city.”
