Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hinted Thursday that he now supports President Trump’s revamped NAFTA program; backing the US leader after recent polls showed the liberal politician losing support throughout Canada.
According to Yahoo News, Trudeau signaled his support for a revised version of the North American Free Trade Agreement this week, telling reporters there was a “high chance” of reaching a new deal.
“We have a high chance of reaching a win-win-win deal for Canada, the United States and Mexico,” said the Prime Minister. “With the pressures of the elections in Mexico, and the US elections, if we could announce something at the Summit of the Americas, that would be great.”
Trudeau’s comments come days after new polls show him losing support in Canada; with the Conservative party gaining ground in recent surveys.
“All of a sudden, we saw this drop,” said the chief executive of Abacus Data, an Ottawa polling firm. “It’s the first time since Trudeau became prime minister that we have results showing the Conservatives slightly ahead.”
TRUDEAU TANKS: Canadian Prime Minister SAVAGELY MOCKED for India Trip DISASTER
Canadian Prime Minister and liberal “darling” Justin Trudeau was severely mocked -and at times harshly criticized- for his recent visit to India; with his country’s Indian and Sikh community slamming the left-wing leader’s actions and clothing as “insensitive” and “stereotypical.”
The Canadian First Family’s visit was riddled with cultural and political mistakes from the start; with Trudeau’s wife unknowingly posing for a photograph with a Sikh separatist convicted of an assassination plot against a prominent Indian leader.
“Obviously we take this situation extremely seriously,” Trudeau said after the photograph. “The individual in question never should have received an invitation. As soon as we found out, we rescinded the invitation immediately.”
The criticism went from bad to worse, with many on social media mocking the Prime Minister’s choice of “traditional” clothing; saying “FYI we Indians don’t dress like this every day sir, not even in Bollywood.”
Is it just me or is this choreographed cuteness all just a bit much now? Also FYI we Indians don’t dress like this every day sir, not even in Bollywood. pic.twitter.com/xqAqfPnRoZ

HONEYMOON OVER: Canadians TURN on TRUDEAU in New Polls
Stunning new polls spell big trouble for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; with new data showing the liberal darling trailing conservatives after weeks of gaffes and a disastrous state visit to India.
According to the Washington Post, the left-leaning politician saw a “sudden drop” in recent surveys, with opposition lawmakers gaining ground against the one-time star of the global political arena.
“All of a sudden, we saw this drop,” said the chief executive of Abacus Data, an Ottawa polling firm. “It’s the first time since Trudeau became prime minister that we have results showing the Conservatives slightly ahead.”
The survey suggests many Canadian voters were turned off by Trudeau’s trip to India; where he wore “traditional” attire many said was “insensitive” and “inappropriate.”
“When you have foreign media like CNN and BBC making fun of our prime minister, that was jarring for some people and made people question whether he was the best person for the job,” the analyst added.
