TRUE PATRIOTS: NFL Fan Helps Disabled Man STAND During National Anthem

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.01.18

One patriotic football fan touched hearts across the country Sunday night, when an image of a New Orleans Saints supporter helping a “disabled Giants fan” stand during the national anthem went viral on social media.

The image shows the unidentified man lending a hand as the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ played throughout the stadium.

“Sports is about winning and losing. Except when it’s not. Today, at MetLife Stadium, @NOLAnews photographer @MichaelDeMocker saw a Saints fan helping to lift a disabled Giants fan out of his chair so he could stand during the National Anthem,” posted a reporter from ESPN.

The heartwarming image comes as the league struggles to appease patriotic fans over ongoing player protests during the anthem.

Alejandro Villanueva Jerseys SELL OUT After 'Standing Up' For USA

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.14.17

Pittsburgh Steelers lineman Alejandro Villanueva made a fiercely patriotic statement on Sunday, being the only player on his team to emerge from the locker room and stand the ‘Star-Spangled Banner,’ prompting his jersey sales to skyrocket throughout the US, reports Fox News.

Villanueva, a former Army Ranger who served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan, was the sole Steeler to emerge from the locker-room during the national anthem; with other teammates taking part in a league-wide protest over President Trump’s harsh words regarding those who protest the nation’s flag during opening ceremonies.

NFL fans and American patriots are showing their support for the offensive lineman, ordering his jersey and other sportswear in droves. According to Fanatics.com, Villanueva’s jersey skyrocketed to the top of the charts on their online store, trailing only custom shirts and Antonio brown’s jersey.

Villanueva played college football at West Point before serving three tours of duty in Afghanistan. The Steeler was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for Valor during his time in the US Army.

“I don’t know if the most effective way is to sit down during the national anthem with a country that’s providing you freedom, providing you $16 million a year … when there are black minorities that are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan for less than $20,000 a year,” said Villanueva.

BAD APPLE: Bill De Blasio Trashes NFL’s ‘UN-AMERICAN’ Protest Ban

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.25.18

Hyper-liberal New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio predictably blasted the National Football League’s new rules regarding player protests Friday, calling NFL’s decision to ban the demonstrations “un-American.”

De Blasio was speaking with MSNBC when he slammed the owners’ unanimous decision to require all athletes to stand for the US national anthem or remain in the locker room, saying “it doesn’t make any sense.”

“Un-American. Just plain un-American,” said the Big Apple Mayor.

“It doesn’t make sense. You know, we would not tolerate it if any other employer said that their employees cannot express their beliefs. You know, right away you’d say violation of the First Amendment,” he added.

“I don’t understand why the owners think they can get away from this in any way, shape or form. But what they’re doing ultimately is simply bringing more attention to the cause of players, who are saying there’s an injustice that has to be addressed,” he concluded.

The President praised the NFL’s decision this week, saying they “did the right thing” and will hopefully regain fans lost during their disastrous 2017 season.
