TRUMP EFFECT: 50,000 People STOPPED, Border Arrests UP 203% in One Year

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.05.18

Over 50,000 undocumented individuals were apprehended at the US-Mexico border in March 2018; a 203% increase from the same period last year according to new statistics released by the US Customs and Border Protection Agency.

The new data shows 50,308 people were either detained or refused entrance into the United States through the nation’s southern border last month; a drastic increase from March 2017 and a 37% increase from February of this year.

The crackdown has forced human traffickers to alter their techniques; sending more and more children with the hopes of gaining entry into the US accompanied by minors.

“The traffickers and smugglers know that, if you arrive with a family, under our current legal and court system, you have a much better chance of being released into the United States,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

“We have seen the smugglers advertise this as an enticement. And we have seen traffickers, unfortunately, fraudulently use children to gain entry into our country,” she added.

'CARAVAN' CRISIS: Group Say Trump Threatening Immigrants With ‘MASS VIOLENCE’

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.03.18

The organizers behind a massive “caravan” of US-destined immigrants slammed the Trump administration while traveling through Mexico Tuesday, saying the US President was threatening Central Americans with “threats of mass violence.”

According to Fox News, the leaders of the 1,000-immigrant strong march towards the United States’ southern border accused Trump of “bullying” the refugee community; adding his “caravan” will continue to stand with all “displaced peoples.”

“On April 1st, the U.S. President opportunistically invoked refugee caravans as a pretext for threatening immigrants already in the country, specifically DACA recipients, with a so-called ‘Nuclear Option’ to remove their protections from detention and deportation,” said a statement from People Without Borders.

“In the face of this bullying and these threats of mass violence, we continue to stand in solidarity with displaced people of all races, ethnicities, creeds, abilities, and gender and sexual identities,” the organization said.

President Trump called for “tougher laws” Monday night following news of the approaching Central American immigrants, saying “Honduras, Mexico and many other countries that the U.S. is very generous to, sends many of their people to our country through our WEAK IMMIGRATION POLICIES. Caravans are heading here. Must pass tough laws and build the WALL. Democrats allow open borders, drugs and crime!”

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: One Small Town FIGHTS BACK Against ‘SANCTUARY’ Laws

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.19.18

The second-smallest city in Orange County, California is gearing up for a major legal battle against the state’s outrageous ‘Sanctuary City’ policies; with the local government voting Monday on whether they plan to opt out of the “California Values Act” that prohibits cooperation between local police and federal immigration agents

According to the Orange County Register, the city of Los Alamitos will hold a vote this week to withdraw from the state’s policies that buck federal guidelines regarding illegal immigration; saying the state law “may be in direct conflict with federal laws and the Constitution of the United States.”

“The proposed ordinance might be the first local attempt in California to officially challenge the law, said Kathleen Kim, a Loyola Marymount University law professor who specializes in immigrants’ rights and human trafficking,” writes the Register.

“Everyone holding elective office takes the same oath to uphold the laws to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. It doesn’t say unless the state legislature decides otherwise,” a community activist told the OCR. “I do believe somewhere in our history, we fought a war to prevent states from ignoring the law of the land and preserving the union.”

The city’s decision to fight back against the state’s ‘Sanctuary’ policies comes just days after President Trump toured the region; calling on officials to fund his border wall prototypes and cooperate with ICE agents in cracking down on illegal immigrants residing in the United States.
