TUITION TOSSED? California ‘Poised’ to Give Away TWO YEARS of Free College

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.19.18

California officials are considering a key proposal that would give all residents two years of tuition-free community college, with lawmakers weighing the policy after Democrats gained greater power in the state legislature.

According to SF Gate, “California community college students could reap the benefits of Democratic dominance in the state Legislature, with lawmakers pushing for the state to cover the cost of two years of tuition for students who commit to enrolling full time right out of high school.”

Left-wing activists and lawmakers across the United States -including Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren- have favored the liberal proposal in recent years; arguing for free public education following high school for all residents.

“This is about strengthening the middle class,” said Los Angeles Assemblyman Miguel Santiago.

The two-year cost associated with the program is estimated at $2,208 per student.

BLUE STATE EXODUS: Residents Flee HIGH TAXES in New York, California

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.06.18

Residents in liberal states throughout the country are ditching high taxes and rising crime rates in search of a better deal; relocating to red states that have lower costs and more business incentives heading into summer 2018.

According to the Wall Street Journal, countless Americans are leaving New York, New Jersey, and California; opting to relocate to more financially-friendly states such as Nevada and Florida following the GOP-sponsored tax cuts.

“I’ve seen a huge increase in the number of clients who want to purchase in Palm Beach to establish residency in Florida,” said the director of luxury sales at Douglas Elliman Real Estate. “And there has been a pickup since Jan. 1.”

“They were finance people in their mid- to late-30s looking in the $700,000 to $1.5 million range for condos on the island,” he added. “That night I saw before my eyes how this tax law is impacting the real-estate industry here.”

BLUE STATE BLUES: Liberal Governors to SUE TRUMP ADMIN Over GOP Tax Cuts

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.26.18

New York’s Andrew Cuomo announced his plans Friday to form a coalition of ‘Blue State’ Governors and sue the federal government over the recently passed GOP tax legislation; saying the bill unfairly punishes east coast residents with drastically higher property taxes.

Just three states -New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut- have signed onto Cuomo’s initiative, but the group hopes to expand to California, Illinois, and other left-leaning local governments as the Republican tax cuts take effect in the coming months.

According to Fox News, the coalition blasted the legislation’s State and Local Tax Deduction, also known as SALT provision, which eliminates individual’s abilities to deduct state and local taxes from their federal filings; making people in high-tax states likely to pay more on their annual tax bill.

“The elimination of full state and local deductibility is a blatantly partisan and unlawful attack on New York that uses our hardworking families and tax dollars as a piggy bank to pay for tax cuts for corporations and other states,” Cuomo said in a statement. “This coalition will take the federal government to court to protect our residents from this assault.”

“Capping the State and Local Tax deduction had nothing to do with sound policy,” added New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. “It is a clear and politically motivated punishment of blue states — like New Jersey and our neighbors —who already pay far more to the federal government than we receive.”

Cuomo’s lawsuit is the latest instance of Democratic leaders struggling to stop the President’s tax overhaul. Earlier this month, California announced its intention to “seize” half the tax cut revenue of all corporations earning over $1 million.
