UPDATE: Kavanaugh Speaks Out, Says He ‘Will Not be Intimidated’ into Withdrawing

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.24.18

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh released a public statement Monday regarding allegations of sexual misconduct against the judge during his time in high school and college; saying he refuses to be “intimidated” into “withdrawing from this process.”

The potential Justice penned a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday afternoon; expressing his willingness to testify before Congress and address these “smears” publicly.

“These are smears, pure and simple. And they debase our public discourse. But they are also a threat to any man or woman who wishes to serve our country. Such grotesque and obvious character assassination—if allowed to succeed—will dissuade competent and good people of all political persuasions from service,” writes Kavanaugh.

“I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process. The coordinated effort to destroy my good name will not drive me out,” he adds. “The vile threats of violence against my family will not drive me out. The last- minute character assassination will not succeed.”

BREAKING: Sen. Chuck Grassley Sets Friday Deadline for Kavanaugh Accuser

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.19.18

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley set a new deadline for Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser to respond to his request for her to speak at a committee hearing; saying she must officially respond by 10:00am Friday.

According to Reuters, Grassley fired-off an official letter to ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein requesting her initial, un-redacted version of the material she forwarded to the FBI.

“(Ford) continues to believe that a full non-partisan investigation of this matter is needed and she is willing to cooperate with the Committee,” said Lisa Banks, Ford’s attorney. “However, the Committee’s stated plan to move forward with a hearing that has only two witnesses is not a fair or good faith investigation; there are multiple witnesses whose names have appeared publicly and should be included in any proceeding.”

Feinstein stunned her Congressional colleagues last week when she confirmed she had forwarded Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual misconduct allegations to the FBI.

UPDATE: Kavanaugh Accuser Demands FBI Investigation Before She Testifies

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.19.18

The confirmation process of President Trump’s pick to join the US Supreme Court took a dramatic turn Tuesday evening, when Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser requested a complete investigation by the FBI before speaking with Congressional leaders.

According to the Associated Press, the lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford confirmed the professor would likely not attend Monday’s scheduled hearing surrounding her allegations of sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh approximately 36 years ago.

An FBI probe “should be the first step in addressing the allegations,” said Ford’s attorney.

GOP Senator Bob Corker pushed back against the request, saying “If we don’t hear from both sides on Monday, let’s vote.”

“It is imperative the Judiciary committee move forward on the Kavanaugh nomination and a committee vote be taken ASAP,” added Sen. Lindsey Graham.
