BREXIT BREAKDOWN: British Prime Minister Says EU Talks Have Totally ‘STALLED’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.21.18

British Prime Minister Theresa May says Brexit negotiations with European Union officials have completely “stalled” after EU authorities flat-out rejected her separation proposals; claiming they “rejected her plans without explaining why.”

According to Reuters, EU leaders in Austria slammed May’s initial proposal, saying she needed to yield on demands for “ground trade” and the United Kingdom’s border with Ireland.

“It’s not acceptable to simply reject the other side’s proposals without a detailed explanation and counter proposals,” said the British Prime Minister.

“So we now need to hear from the EU what the real issues are, what their alternative is, so that we can discuss them. Until we do, we cannot make progress,” she added.

A key point of contention is the United Kingdom’s border with Ireland, with EU officials demanding there can be no “hard barrier” between the two nations.

BREXIT BREAKDOWN: Cabinet Members Quit, May’s Future in Peril, Pound PLUMMETS

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.15.18

The United Kingdom’s impending divorce from the European Union took a turn for the worse Thursday, when at least six cabinet members quit Prime Minister Theresa May’s government over her “soft” Brexit proposal.

The most significant departure was Brexit Minister Dominic Raab who abruptly quit after saying the deal had “significant and fatal flaws” regarding the UK’s trade policy, immigration, and the border with Ireland.

“Above all, I cannot reconcile the terms of the proposed deal with the promises we made to the country in our manifesto at the last election,” Raab said.

“Their departure, and the resignations of two junior ministers, shakes May’s divided government. Raab is the second Brexit secretary to quit over May’s plans to leave the European Union, the biggest shift in British policy in more than 40 years,” writes Reuters.

The resulting political chaos and uncertainty has caused the British Pound to plummet against the Euro and other currencies; dropping to $1.27 per Pound Sterling.
