WEST COAST CHAOS: California Has ‘HIGHEST POVERTY RATE’ in the US Despite Massive Spending

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.13.18

New data released by the federal government this week shows California has the nation’s highest poverty rate despite widespread efforts to cut down on homelessness and soaring rent prices throughout the region.

According to the Sacramento Bee, the Census Bureau posted stunning figures Wednesday that revealed 19% of California residents were living below the poverty line and were “struggling to get by.”

“Although California has a vigorous economy and a number of safety net programs to aid needy residents, it’s often not enough to forestall economic hardship for one out of every five residents, the data show,” writes the Bee.

“We do have a housing crisis in many parts of the state and our poverty rate is highest in Los Angeles County,” said Caroline Danielson, policy director at the Public Policy Institute of California.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: DOJ to INVESTIGATE Oakland Mayor After ICE TIP-OFF

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.02.18

The White House confirmed this week that the Department of Justice was launching an investigation into a California mayor who tipped-off illegal immigrants of impending ICE sweeps; calling the left-wing politicians actions “outrageous,” reports the Los Angeles Times.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called-out Oakland, California Mayor Libby Schaaf Thursday over her decision to publicly disclose imminent immigration crackdowns throughout the Bay Area, telling residents to be on the lookout for federal agents within their communities.

“I think it’s outrageous that a mayor would circumvent federal authorities and certainly put them in danger by making a move such as that,” said Sanders, adding that her actions were currently “under review” to see if she violated federal law.

“The Oakland mayor’s decision to publicize her suspicions about ICE operations further increased that risk for my officers and alerted criminal aliens — making clear that this reckless decision was based on her political agenda with the very federal laws that ICE is sworn to uphold,” said ICE’s acting director.

Oakland, like many other California municipalities, considers itself a ‘Sanctuary City,’ often shielding illegal immigrants and undocumented workers from federal authorities and border patrol agents.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Democrats Want ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to Hold ‘State Offices’

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.01.18

A new bill introduced in the California Senate would allow illegal immigrants to serve on all “state and local boards” and hold official positions throughout the Golden State; a further rebuke of the federal government’s crackdown on undocumented workers.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Senate Bill 174 would effectively amend existing legislation to allow any “resident over the age of 18” to hold a “civil office regardless of citizenship or immigration status.”

The state’s current guidelines demand anyone holding office to be a legal citizen of the United States at the time of their appointment.

“California is stronger when we utilize talents of all our residents, and opening state and local boards and commissions to every Californian will allow us to better serve our diverse communities,” Sen. Ricardo Lara, the legislation’s author.

“Undocumented Californians are our neighbors, co-workers and parents, and as lawmakers we can’t make good policy if their voices are left out of the discussion,” he added.
