Delusional Chris Matthews left MSNBC viewers scratching their heads on Monday, bizarrely claiming that non-urban areas –such as Colorado and Wyoming- weren’t reading enough Russia-Trump conspiracy stories because they lack “serious newspapers” that continue the never-ending witch hunt.
While poll after poll shows the American public is increasingly disinterested in articles regarding Russian meddling in the 2016 general election, Matthews blamed small town papers for their inability to adequately cover the international story.
“I think part of that is the loss of newspapers in many parts of the country. I was just out in the west with my wife. We were driving around in Colorado and Utah and Wyoming. There’s no local big serious newspapers,” said Matthews.
“You don’t pick it up in the morning when you go down the driveway or whatever, the mailbox — there’s not a newspaper that tells you what’s going to nationally,” he added.
“There are local newspapers that are okay but the days where people had a pretty good newspaper to read. So, how are you going to keep up with Russia? Even if you’re slightly interested it there’s no story for you to read,” said the liberal host. “That’s a fact.”
