ON THE BRINK: President Trump Responds to North Korea Nuclear Threat

President Trump addressed the widening crisis surrounding North Korea’s nuclear program on Tuesday, telling journalists Kim Jong Un will be “met with fire and fury” if he continues to threaten the United States.

The President spoke just minutes after intelligence officials confirmed the communist nation possessed nuclear warheads that could reach the United States mainland; hitting targets as far away as Chicago and even New York City.

The President was concluding a briefing with senior aides focusing on opioid abuse when he weighed-in on the escalating situation.

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” warned the President from his golf retreat in Bedminster, New Jersey.

“They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen,” he told jouranlists. “He has been very threatening; beyond a normal statement. As I said, they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

US intelligence agencies surprised the world earlier Tuesday when they officially concluded that North Korea not only possesses missiles that could reach the United States, but has also built a nuclear warhead small enough to be sent by rocket.
