Police have apprehended a suspect in a terror attack that let 6 members of French Security Services injured on Wednesday.

Police shot and wounded the suspect in what’s being described as a dramatic car chase on the A16 motorway at the town of Marquise in Northern France.

According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, the suspect is a 36-year-old North African man who lives in a suburb of Paris.

The Mayor of Levallois-Perret, the suburb of Paris where the attack occurred, has already referred to the attack as an act of terror.

“Without a doubt this is a terrorist attack … he deliberately drove out to hit the soldiers,” Levallois-Perret Mayor Patrick Balkany said according to NBC News.

On Wednesday, a car plowed into a group of soldiers stationed at barracks in the Levallois-Perret neighborhood north of Paris. The attack injured six members of the 35th infantry regiment.

According to the local Mayor, eyewitnesses told police that a dark-colored BMW appeared to be waiting nearby for the soldiers to emerge from the building and then sped down a wrong-way street towards the service members.
