DNC to Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Shut Up and 'Go Away'

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.15.17

Former Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has become such a political liability that members of the DNC are beginning to call for the liberal Congresswoman to simply “go away” over her growing IT scandal.

Schultz, who has been isolated and despondent since the news of her disgraced IT staffer Imran Awan made national headlines, is increasingly facing calls from fellow members of the DNC to step-aside and avoid further embarrassment.

Speaking with Politico, Nikki Barnes –a prominent member of the Florida DNC- said Schultz needs to stop “doubling-down” on the widening scandal that has engulfed the Democratic Party.

“We wish she would go away and stop being so public by doubling down on negative stories,” said Barnes.

“Those of us on the DNC know we have to rebrand ourselves and earn the people’s trust. And unfortunately Debbie’s name does not scream trust. It screams power. It screams limited access. It screams WikiLeaks now. DNC lawsuit. It screams a lot of negative things to the public. That’s not how we want to rebrand ourselves,” she added.

Schultz finds herself at the center of a growing scandal regarding her shady IT technician, Imran Awan, who was arrested while fleeing the country after funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to Pakistan. Schultz kept Awan on her payroll for months after he was barred from the Capitol; firing him on the day of his arrest.

Schultz defended her decision to keep Awan as an employee, saying, “There are times when you can’t be afraid to stand alone, and you have to stand up for what’s right.”
