TRUMP TO KIM: 'Fire and Fury' Wasn't Tough Enough

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.10.17

President Donald Trump doubled-down on his “fiery” warning to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un Thursday, telling reporters in New Jersey that his controversial statement might not have been “tough enough” and that he was prepared to defend “the people of this country” at all costs.

Speaking with journalists alongside Vice President Mike Pence, the President stood by his stern warning to Kim Jong Un, saying his comments were backed by the military and the American people.

“To the people who were questioning that statement. ‘Maybe it was too tough?’ Maybe it wasn’t tough enough,” said the defiant President. “They’ve been doing this to our country for a long time, for many years and it’s about time that somebody stuck up for the people of this country and for the people of other countries. If anything, maybe that statement wasn’t tough enough. We’re backed 100% by our military, we’re back by everybody.”

“If anything, that statement may not be tough enough,” he added.

“What would be tougher than fire and fury?” pressed one reporter.

“You’ll see, you’ll see,” said Trump. “We don’t talk about that, I never do. I’m not like the other administration that would say we’re going into Mosul in four months. I don’t talk about it, we’ll see what happens.”

The President was then asked if his administration would still be willing to negotiate with the North Korean dictator over his ongoing weapons and missile programs.

“Sure, we’ll always consider negotiations. But they’ve been negotiating now for 25 years. Look at Clinton, he folded on the negotiations,” Trump said. “Look at what happened with Bush, look at what happened with Obama. He didn’t even want to talk about it. But I talk, it’s about time.”
