OUCH: President Trump RIPS CNN's Jim Acosta Face-to-Face

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.14.17

President Trump slammed CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta on Monday afternoon, telling the cable news reporter “you’re fake news” after his repeated attempts to question the President over the weekend’s violent protests in Virginia.

The President was speaking with reporters following a White House event when Acosta began hurling questions at Trump as he was exiting the room.

“Mr. President, can you explain why you did not condemn those hate groups by name over the weekend?” asked Acosta.

“They’ve been condemned. They have been condemned,” responded the President.

“Why are we not having a press conference today? You said on Friday we’d have a press conference,” pressed Acosta.

“We had a press conference. We just had a press conference,” said the President.

“Can we ask you some more questions then, sir?” asked the CNN journalist.

“It doesn’t bother me at all. But you know, I like real news. Not fake news. You’re fake news. Thank you everybody,” said the President as he exited the room.

President Trump and other White House officials have routinely clashed with Acosta in recent months. Just days ago, the CNN correspondent got into a heated exchange with senior Trump aide Stephen Miller, confusing the nation’s green-card system with illegal immigration.

“Surely Jim, you don’t actually think that a wall affects green card policy? You couldn’t possibly believe that, do you?” asked a shocked Miller. “Does CNN not know the difference between green card policy and illegal immigration?”
