Petition to Recognize 'Antifa' as Official Terror Organization Gains Steam

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.08.17

A grassroots petition to have the United States government recognize the Anti-Fascist organization, better known as ‘Antifa,’ as an official terror group has gained over 100,000 signatures, prompting an official response from the White House.

The petition appeared online just days after violent demonstrations rocked Charlottesville, Virginia, when white nationalist protesters clashed with counter-protesters, leaving one person dead and dozens injured.

“Terrorism is defined as ‘the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims’. This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations,” says the petition.

“AntiFa has earned this title due to its violent actions in multiple cities and their influence in the killings of multiple police officers throughout the United States,” it adds. “It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.”

President Trump has unequivocally denounced white nationalists and other hate groups in the immediate aftermath of the chaos in Virginia, saying their words and actions were “repugnant” to everything America stands for.

“Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” said the President.
