IT BEGINS: Vandals Decapitate Statue of Revolutionary War Hero

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.03.17

The statue of a revolutionary war hero was decapitated in Ohio Thursday night, the latest in a string of incidents where vandals and far-left activists are attacking historical symbols and monuments throughout the United States.

The monument to Col. William Crawford, who was tortured to death near the end of the American War of Independence, stands near the entrance of the Crawford County Courthouse in Ohio. The statue was found Friday morning with the head removed.

According to local news the suspect or suspects remain at large.

Crawford first served in the French and Indian War, and later in the American revolution under the command of George Washington. A local lawyer is offering a reward for the arrest of the criminals behind the beheading.

“This saddens me. I love my hometown. I don’t know much of the history of Col. Crawford, but for the fact that he was a surveyor and a soldier of the Revolutionary War and French and Indian War. Crawford County works so hard to keep things nice and the courthouse is an absolute gem,” wrote the Attorney.

President Trump weighed-in on the ongoing tensions throughout the nation regarding the country’s historical monuments and symbols, asking those who are advocating the removal of confederate memorials where it all ends.

“Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You can’t change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson – who’s next, Washington, Jefferson?” asked the President.
