President Donald Trump had some harsh words for Congressional lawmakers on Wednesday, telling a packed audience that he “doesn’t want to be disappointed” over tax reform legislation and asking GOP legislators, “Do you understand me?”
The President made the comments during a speech in Missouri, where he touted strong economic numbers released this week.
“We just announced that we hit 3% in GDP,” said Trump. “The last administration during an eight-year period never hit 3%, so we’re really on our way.”
“So this is our once in a generation opportunity to deliver real tax reform for everyday, hard-working Americans and I am fully committed to working with Congress to get this job done,” said the President. “I don’t want to be disappointed by Congress, do you understand me? Do you understand!?”
“Congress… I think Congress is going to make a comeback. I hope so. I’ll tell you what, the United States is counting on it,” he added.
