The left-leaning New York Times published a vile article on Monday applauding disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner; just hours after the sex offender was sentenced to 21 months in prison for “sexting” with a 15-year-old teenager.
The story, titled “Why I Admire Anthony Weiner,” applauds the liberal politician for admitting to his “disease” and says he “knows the difference between having a compulsion and acting on it.”
“Mr. Weiner captured an important distinction that has been lost in our culture […] He didn’t blame his ‘disease.’ He knows that there is a difference between having a compulsion and acting on it. But there is an idea bigger than just controlling one’s impulses,” writes the author.
“This may sound odd, but I admire Anthony Weiner for what he did on Monday,” she writes. “He stood tearfully before the judge and acknowledged several compatible truths: that he was responsible for his action, that he is accepting the consequences, and that he needs help so that he can liberate himself from those compulsions, or, at the very least, stop acting on them.”
Anthony Weiner pled guilty earlier this year to “transmitting” sexual material and having a “lewd relationship” with a minor, and was sentenced to 21 months in prison this week.
The disgraced Congressman’s fall from grace began in 2011, when he “accidentally” tweeted graphic images of himself on the internet, eventually costing him his seat in the US Congress.
