OUCH: President Trump SCORCHES Hillary Over NFL Protest Stance

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.10.17

President Trump called-out former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a briefing at the White House on Monday, slamming his 2016 opponent’s support for NFL player protests during the national anthem, telling reporters, “this is why she lost.”

After the President jokingly “hoped” that Hillary Clinton runs again in 2020, Fox reporter John Roberts asked the President to comment on her statement over the weekend, where she praised professional athletes who “take a knee” during the national anthem.

“Is she right or is she wrong?” asked Roberts.

“I think she’s wrong. Look, when they take a knee… there’s plenty of time to do knees and there are plenty of times to do lots of other things,” said the President.

“That’s why she lost the election. It’s that thinking, that’s the reason she lost the election. When you go down and take a knee, or any other way, you’re sitting essentially for our great national anthem,” he added.

“You’re disrespecting our flag and you’re disrespecting our country. The NFL should have suspended some of these players for one game, not fire them, suspend them for one game,” said Trump. “You wouldn’t have people disrespecting our country right now. And if Hillary Clinton actually made the statement that in a form sitting down during the playing of our great national anthem, then I fully understand why she didn’t win.”
